What is the easiest way to find out what month (and early/late) and year it is while playing?

When on the main map it's in the lower-left, just below the "End Turn" button.

We had one report in which someone couldn't see numbers along the bottom line -- though I haven't heard back yet on what I suspect might be causing it.  If you can't see the date, can you see any other information at the bottom of the screen?

I cannot see any information, including the date, along the bottom line below the "End Turn" button. All that is there is a thick black bar that looks like the bottom of a picture frame. What all am I missing and could you please help fix it for me? Thanks.

Can you check to see what size your windows fonts are set at?  That's probably the problem, something I can easily fix if so.

Here is the information you requested.

Display Properties, Appearance tab, Font size => Normal
Display Properties, Settings tab, Advanced => Display large size 120 dpi (125% normal size)

Thanks for the help

That 125% is probably the reason why you're seeing this problem then.  I should be able to fix this issue in the next patch; you might try dropping the 125 down to 100% as a workaround until then.

Unfortunately dropping the 125% back down to normal did not help on my computer. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you try restarting the system after you changed the settings?  Some of those types of system settings aren't fully set until after reboot.

For what it's worth, I did have to reboot after changing the settings to get it to take effect.

All on this thread - Thank you very much for all of your help - after making the changes and rebooting things worked as desired and I could see the date and the rest of the information on the bottom line. I would appreciate it if you guys at WCS and Matrix could fix it in the next patch though, because I need my original settings for the rest of what I use the computer for and rebooting in between is a pain. Thanks again.

Another place where it would be nice to see the date is on the Military Overview screen. Minor, I know, but it would make going through all of screenshots later much easier.
