The button marked 'X' is NOT cancel. It is not cancel in Windows either. It simply closes the window - as the hint clearly states as well. Whatever action you do is performed by another button. This is consistent in the game.

True, it is VERY consistent in your game. Great!

I don't care anymore. I wish I had never said a word about your game, ever. If you want menus that won't allow a user to cancel anything they mistakingly did, then it's your game.

In every Windows menu where you can make changes, there is an option to abort any changes with a "no-named" button. Call it whatever you want, I don't care. This has gone so stupidly far. You obviously don't want to change it so let it go. I am apparantly the ONLY user that does not like this feature, so ignore me. I am an idiot. I don't know what I am talking about. My wording is stupid. I am a dumb programmer that wants something that's not even IN Windows menus. I know nothing about Windows or its menus. I was just as stupid in the days of MSDOS. I have no common sense. Ignore me.

There. You should be quite happy now. You have won. Don't make any changes. The game is perfect.

I think the bottom line with this issue is there is someone who clearly has a couple issues with the "cancel button" who ALSO had an issue with SLI and has sucked it up for a year only to find a new and very tardy "bonus patch" which broke the game completely...to quote Ike99..."don't use the new patch as it's broken". To release a patch and disappear for awhile only added to the frustration already experienced by some of us. Frankly, to each his/her own...there are some games i won't play because "I" don't like the interface and the way this latest patch was handled does not make me want to jump through any hoops to play a game in a sea of choices. I wish you guys luck and i hope you handle any possible future releases a little more carefully.

Come on now Larry...let`s not be a drama queen. The world is still spinning....I think.

I have no problem with not being able to cancel every action I take in the game. I even think the take back move button on the strategic interface is gratuitous. The right-click for action takes care of most finger-failure situations nicely so I've never used it. A wargame is a bit more of a "grown up" type game and plowing through mistakes is just part of life and true the the historical situations they portray.

I think is pretty much the case.
I can understand where he is coming from. I love the game but if I had to start my computer is a unique way just to play it AND had other smaller gripes I don't think I would like the game 1/2 as much. If it worked in SLI I bet he'd be happy to overlook the other smaller issues.
