2. Are the advisors just as "clever" as in CoG?

not sure what you mean by clever, so maybe should leave this for Gil, or for you to explain what you mean ?

"Clever" as in ironic
In CoG they will do what seems clever while it might not be, the trade advisor as an example seems to judge each trade offered in term of price only, and not in regards to your current economy, which means that putting advisors on is a bad thing, is that still the case?

to be honest, I am not sure, I tend to not have friends to trade with, so don't use it, and I normally am working on the HW side, what goes on in the background is just what is setting me for my side of the testing

was wondering if anybody remember my victory screen shots from CoG ?

well, they seem to of made some changes this time around, so will let slip a little tease

Wow, if this is the new graphical style, I'm really looking forward to Pixelpusher's "rather impressive naval combat graphics..."!
Lot's of cannon-wielding mermaids and cutlass-swinging Kiera Knighley clones on the battlefield, I expect...!

Where the heck do you get these images?

Since they're wearing leather I know I can rule out the PETA website, but that doesn't narrow things down much.

Hey don’t feel alone, I check this site every day as I have no clue how to play this game. I almost want to wait till the expansion (or whatever you call it) comes out so I don't have to forget old rules to play the new one. I have played some battles but have yet to get a reply from those posts I made about why and how battles go. I generally win those games but I feel like an n00b.

Sorry, I normally used to try and answer any questions, but I get kind of busy with other projects

if you have questions, please repost them, and I will try and help you out where I can, overall, I am the HW guy, so I can help more with the way HW works, or what to do if this or that happens and tactics and ideas (but, I wasn't too shabby with General gameplay or issues)

so, if you still got questions or got things you would like to ask, please do

not part of a AAR, but a interesting screen shot of a battle I got going

landed in England to try and make them sign the peace tready (them English are ruff, they don't like signing nothing !)

what I find interesting, as this looks like a pretty strong force, but I am out numbered and out guned, and the enemy has better morale

if push comes to shove, I can call one of the Grands in, to help, but was kind of hopeing not to, as this is one of my "new" style Armees and want to see it in action

Oh My

I didn't know I was out gunned that badly

I might have to call for both of the Grands

well bite my butt

well, I think the French have a fancier way of saying it

who taught the AI how to fight (oh, wait, I think I did, Crudwell and a couple of other things)

it is pinning me with it's Cav and walking in Arty to blast away, I have hurt him bad, but he is hurting me pretty good too !!!

the call went out early for Grand II to come on down from York (mainly to keep my WTF numbers up, but I may need the man power)

now it depends on who gets first shot

had a early night fall (1600 hours) may of saved the battle, all of my cav routed, lost one gun and had my Horse Arty route

Grand Armee II showed up just as night fell and has been marching ever since, to try to be in place when the sun comes up

I now have the edge in firepower, but he still has the edge in morale and numbers

well, day 4, do or die time, but I have driven him back, and should have part of his line flanked, my strength in Arty should start to tell, I got 2 Armees worth sitting there, but he got every gun the English own

Sarge, I noticed your cav is all in column. Isn't it better to be in line for charging?

I might pulled this off, night just fell, WTF is 4 English and 6 French, at 02:00 I lose another 4 points due to time, but panic has set in for the English, one more round of panic will break them

this one, has to rate as one of the best battles I have fought in either CoG or CoGEE

my flanking move, was outflanked

outstanding

I could still lose it, but it is going to be a close one (I better get my guns back !!!!)

ahhh

worked like I expected, panic broke the English, and with there Army breaking, England Broke, the war with the English is over

I lost two guns to the English, but ended up killing them off, and I took a How and a Cav Gun, which also were killed off !!!!

wow that was bloody and a great fight, now lets see what kind of damage I can do to the bums

the English and the Swedes got the best troops in the game

day 4?! Is there a new maximum battle time, or can you fight forever? (untill one side breaks etc etc)

as long as the WTF holds, you can fight, or if it gets too lopsided

which is what I was saying I was calling for help, at first I thought my troops could win on there own, but would lose the WTF side of it, the reinforceing Army would help with the WTF numbers, and as it turned out, it was pretty close

if I made a mistake it was in thinking my first army could win on it's own, I should of called for help as soon as the battle started and then held back until they showed up, so battle shouldn't of started until the middle of day two, but as they say, hindsight is prefect

I have gone 5 days in a battle before, but the time losse is HARD to keep up with, you lose -4 at 02:00 each morning as the attacker

so in this battle, my WTF was -16 just in the amount of time it was taking to fight the battle, plus, what helped/hurt was the length of the day, night fell at 1600 and daybreak was 0800, so short days and long nights

really, when the Alpha started, I would of won with my first army and it would of been a cakewalk, I knew I could win on day one, I was impressed but still knew I would win on day two, I expected to win at the start of day three, ending up hopeing for night to hurry up and get there so I could hang on, morning of day four, I was working on how I wasn't going to lose or how to best save my troops if I did lose, the last 30 minutes of the battle, I did enough damage to get the enemy to start to panic, without those last 30 minutes, I would of lost during the middle of the night

that was the best enemy Army I have seen, and it reacted just as I would of, it snookered me, as it keep a reserve, something the AI was not normally too good at, when I knew I had his front line broke, and I was slipping some poorer troops around his flanks to catch him, he caught me with a healthy reserve, while his front line was broke, it was able to hold long enough, that I couldn't catch his reserves in the rear

Great Battle, and there was nothing I could whine or complain about, if I would of lost, I would of lost fair and square

Good grief.  Where'd all that Brit Arty come from?

That makes a battle a real tough fight.

I'm glad that you can by the "nuke" upgrade and vaporize the enemy in COGEE.

...

Just kidding.  There is no "nuke" upgrade.  But there IS an "armored warfare" upgrade if the wars last 100 years or more.

...

Gotcha again, didn't I?  Just havin' fun.  I'm at work and have finished my 15 minutes of work today.  I came in late, so I'll leave early to make up for it.
