Slacker. You coulda volunteered for the draft, ya know, if ya really wanted to see the glories of the 1971 Republic of Vietnam (believe me, it was noplace to be in '71. We all knew we had been betrayed and were leavin' soon, the only questions were "When?" and "Who's gonna be the last GI to take one?" Nobody wanted to be that last poor dumb SOB, so everybody - and I mean everybody - pretty much hid out and colored in the daily spaces on his short calendar).

Erm, hello... Michael Jackson died...

I don't watch TV at all; was looking at a commentary thread on the CNN website, when I stumbled on that little gem...

Yeah I was crushed, till I recalled that "The Beer-hunter" was already dead! Oh that Michael Jackson! Never cared for him or his music any way.

Nay, I was never a griper. I just played the game as it was. Genital warts and all. Some felt compelled to complain it was shorting them inches in the manliness department.

Yah, I know. That was back in my "Gee, ain't Matrix the greatest, look at this wonderful thing they sold us, and hey - PacWar and War in Russia are free!" days.

Well, I guess I haven't really changed all that much. I did kinda get my panties in a bunch over the WitP leader bug, though, didn't I?

Well, as i mentioned, i actually did try earlier to "join up"... but quickly changed my mind with the incident mentioned above... my father was convinced i was going to end up in an infantry outfit (and i half expected to)... he was very pleased with my draft number... i was frankly stunned at my good luck!

I perfer Allied for grand campaigns, but will do either for short. The only "house rule" I have is IPA or single malt must always be available (my rule at my house, you can suit yourself at yours). The biggest problem I have with house rules is recalling what I've agreed to. I usually just operate on the principal of "if it's ridiculous or immoral" don't do it. I totally trust your judgement, whatever rules you'd like I'll agree to. (But I keep the one about beer and scotch).

OK, that's fine. I use GPS any how , haven't done stellar in years. And while I will always mourn the loss of Michael Jackson , it's the one born in England (the beer hunter) that I'll always mourn. HE WAS a Genius! The other one didn't even drink! Which makes him Untrustworthy, insane and beneath my comtempt! BTW don't look for for any "one gloved wonder" music on my shelves! That space is reserved for the "real Mozart, the Bach family and of course ST. Jimmy Buffet!"

Yeah, clearly this is far worse than relatively insignificant events such as 9-11, the destruction of New Orleans, Chernobyl, Bhopal, and similar lesser events of the past few decades... and things that happened in WW1, WW2, or any of the innumerable other wars clearly are out of the running...

Some people really haven't a clue, methinks...

Did you notice something in the text about the book, where it gives a long list of nationalities fighting against fascism? Try to find where it says "British"...

I wonder what ****storm I would stir up if I went to that site and reponded that I did not believe it was a Global event that he passed away.

I think the HIStory may be a reference to an album he put out, rather than the linear flow of events that began at the dawn of time.
