And for those who understand proper football:

What's the difference between Sir Alex Ferguson and Michael Jackson?

Fergie will still be playing Giggs in August

PROPER FOOTBALL? Oh you mean "kick the danes head!" (Sorry Krisitan, no offense intended).

You're frisky today Steve. Been at the IPA and scotch?

Amazing. They actually allowed my post to stand after a moderator had been by. CNN.com just rose 1.2 points in my esteem.

Now they're at 2.3...

Regarding MJ, I'd like to say for the record that I didn't even like the guys music back in the early 80s when it was considered "cool."  Other than that my only thought on the subject is its a pitty anyone has to die that young.

Nope. Too busy bringing AE to Gold... All sorts of funny little things springing up. After we go Gold, I'll be busy building the Downfall scenario (FINALLY!)...

It's going to (probably) be in the first post-release patch. I've always wanted to do one, and now it gets to be official as well...

So as someone who's been working with and doing a game in AE , what has been the hardest change to adjust to?

Just for your previous comment I'm not going to send you a turn and make you do housework instead. Ha!

OH THE HUMMANITY! Actually my friend, I didn't mean you. (But would greatly appreciate such kindness) I was trying to tease Bobo , who has been down most of the week with internet problems.

i can stop sending you turns if you want. plus i think in the past 2 day we have done more turns than we normaly do in a week.

That's actually a good take, but must say that several people spent a lot of time with the proposition of capability. The hardest adjustment will come from the realization that in '42 and most of '43 neither side will be able to do "ANYTHING" unless they plan far, far in advance. And if they do, their strike options are limited. None of this India crap, no PH invasions, none of that doo doo.

Boh sides get a deck of cards (and a GD small one at that). You play em as you see em, and if you screw up, game, and maybe rubber, to the other folks. We wanted to make things hurt; hurt so bad you want to scream. Yeah, well, try being an Admiral for a while.

Yeah, I know, I'm a noxious sob, and Pas has been giving me tips on how to pretend I'm a real person, but I still just can't reach out that far, and if you folks don't get the concept of planning and logistics, you are gonna lose your winkie.

i'm thinking me playing a few chs games as japan where logistics are that much more important than stock( and i have crashed my economy a few times) will be a good thing to get me ready for the mindset of ae for both sides(except it sounds like its gonna be x4)

Good gravy, but the RAF has the least research-friendly service records policy of any UK service. Any records of aircrew who served after 1920 can only be accessed by the service itself or family members. Maddening!

As Mrs. Bennett said (anachronistically, but amusingly) in the Larry Olivier/Greer Garson "Pride and Prejudice," "That's the most encouraging news since the battle of Waterloo." I used to drone on and on about how WitP didn't constrain the player to a specifically defined role. At least from this, I am hoping that AE will keep us overly ambitious hockey pucks under control. I can hear the outcry now. "You mean I can't conquer the world?" "Why can't I invade Russia and join hands with Hitler in Voronezh?" "Chicago? It ought to be renamed after a shogun-passed wind."

The Allies ought to have a heckuva time dealing with, or even defeating, Japan. Japan should not, however, be given ridiculously lopsided opportunities to accomplish what was not even remotely possible in the historical context.

We shall see...

They ought to be playing with the same deck. The deck with capabilities dictated by the historical situation being simulated. I do wish that WitP made you an admiral instead of the hydra-headed thingie it turned out doing. Aircraft engine manufacture? Come on. "Political points?" Please. Oh, well, I have reconciled myself to the idea that some of the lame-o nonsense that was built into this game will never go away.

Like I would know, pal. I just hope to contribute to various opponents' winkie losing and enjoy the new iteration even more thoroughly than I have enjoyed the past - and that has been considerable.

Of course, those who fantasize about spacefaring Yamatos and Zero-killing P-39s will have a fully-capable editor with which to work, but hey - as long as you got yer winkie, you might as well play with it...
