I need a little help with the editor. In attempting to create a map for the Battle of Long Island (American Revolution), I found it impossible to get redoubts that would face toward the right side of the computer screen or to the lower edge of the computer screen. Can anyone give me some advice?

Thanks

You can't do that anyway. It is to difficult to explain why. But is few ways to made equivalent object.
First
You can put on the edges of redoubt another object like trench or cliff, sometimes ifredoubt is of edges ABC try put something on E
B _
A/ \C
F\_/D
E
Second Thisisanhex. Made redoubt ABC,next click the point between C and D (YOU SHOLUD get red. DEF on neighbour hex). Then click the point between E and F in the new redoubt (should get newone redoubt CDE
Try it's look funny but works

Yeah, it seems you can't add that kind of redoubt directly, but only as a follow-up to others. Then, you should save, and start the fiddly process of removing the others again. :/

A potentially easier solution would be to just flip the map. That way, actual geographical orientation and ingame orientation will differ, but if you can live with that (and in some official scenarios you have to anyways), it'll save you a lot of work.

This should probably be fixed in the next patch. I agree it´s too fiddly now to place the redoubts so they point in the right directions.

I´ll see what I can with the graphical placement of them in the files to get them to work better for you guys.

Magnus, the redoubts are treated as hex sides, which mean they can only be placed on the northwest, north and northeast sides of the hex, just like the rivers, cliffs, fords, etc. in HexSides.tga.

When you redraw these, place them along one side of the hex only to avoid any confusion in the game as to what the redoubts actually cover.

I know Tim's looking at putting out a patch rather soon.
