Eventually...in my third and final retirement. But I plan to retire in North Florida. The geezers retire in central or southern Florida. I intend to retire in "The Red-neck Riviera".

It is! But you should try to get it at a "fish camp" , where it will be very fresh. It's best from the tail , and deep fried. So you have white meat (as in chicken). But I find it to be sweeter. And there is the added benefit that I know that the more I eat of them, the less there are to eat me! Culinary self defense!

They were only stuck on the Disney monorail for about 3 hours (From 1 AM to 4 AM). It wasd quite warm that night so the trains got hot and stuffy from what I understand.

The tunnel trains were stuck about 8 hours I think......

Okra is a bit odd. I like it ok fried, or in gumbo as a thickener, I cannot eat it otherwise.

I'm not a real fan of it. But you can't make a real gumbo without it (the rue doesn't thicken right if you use cornstarch or arrowroot instead, and the okra does add taste and heat to it). And deep fried makes it ALMOST palitable. With LOTS of beer it becomes edible.

OBTW....Your a Yankee!

Says the guy born and raised in Maine.

Within an hour of Jacksonville. No particular place , but probably on the southside , headed towards St. Augustine. Of course I'd also like Pensacola , but My wife's not familar with it , so that would take a little selling.

I've been stationed in Jacksonville (JAX) three times, my wife twice , so that's an easy sale.

One place I'd like to pass through in the next couple of years (especially as I'm heading out west soon) is Millington. And of course Memphis. I haven't been there since 1977 and my wife has never been there. So maybe you'll let me buy you a beer if we pass through town.

I think I'd prefer that. Andouille sausage is a bit too spicy for my taste.I perfer lingisa (Portugeuees sausage) I've been in places where File powder was not available though.

Well my next retirement (my 1st was USN) when ever my wife can retire from the USN (somewhere between six months and 2 years--probably 2 years). That "retirement" would probably be in the DC area , then in 7 to 10 years our "permanent retirement" (still working part time, just at an easy Florida pace).
