Its a sign of the times. 100 years ago a gentleman would be having brandy and a cigar.

I'm having wine and a pipe...does that count?

If youre French, yes.

And have his children bring his slippers and the evening newspaper to him. Let me know how that works out for ya.

Heck, I'd settle for anyone bringing me my slippers.

"Bong" is so pase'. It's a 'water pipe', dude. You can smoke any manner of combustible leaves in said water pipe, they're not exclusively relegated to tobacco by itself.

I have an argylie / hokah (sp?) that a Syrian friend gave me. There's some delicious apple and cherry tobacco that one can smoke in it. Course, it can lend itself to other products as well.

Hookah is the word you are looking for. I don't do flavored tobacco though. Yuck.

Erm, I've tried both, you know... My answer is still "I used to think so too"...

Yes but being the equivilent of the Ralphie's little brother with his face plastered onto the Xmas display window at this time, I can assure you this is worse.

Yeah, I guess it is... I still want to amputate my own foot with my teeth after one of those meetings, though. And they managed to only get through the first item on the agenda today, so we have to have ANOTHER meeting later to do the others.

Sorry, I've got my own PHBs...

As for BS2, I heard it was not as good as BS1.

T: Perhaps I've developed a greater tolerance of nonsensical / nonproductive meetings having worked for a number of Universities over the years. The one group that made me want to gouge out my eyeballs, boil and eat them was a committee that I served on at an Ivy League University back East.

I somehow got trapped into chairing (I'm not making this up) the committee on committees. Nothing else comes close.

The kicker was that I was nominated to chair this committee. One of my colleagues threw me under the bureaucratic bus big time.
