D*mn. We had an (unintentional) power outage last night. Was halfway through doing a PBEM turn when the power went.

Seems like this outage crashed the power unit of my PC sound system as well :-/

Ah well, everything seems fine with the PC at least. Just have to buy a new sound system.

Damn, no luck here ! hope sound systems are not too much expensive.

The old one was a 700W 7.1 (home movie) sound system. I'm looking for something similar. Looks like logitech has a good one for roughly 350 Euro. Hmmm ...

World Cup 2010 is turning out similar to WW2...  The French surrender and give up early on, the Americans turn up at the last minute and we're stuck facing the Germans who no-one thinks we can beat...

Are you going to have the American squad come into your game and beat the Germans for you in the WC?

Can we have a lone french in the UK or US team to represent the Free French ???

Well, some of our players are southern nancy boys so are practically French

P.S. Good to see you about again

Can we have Dempsey and Tim Howard on lend-lease?

EDIT: and Onyewu.

Onyewu? Surely you'd rather have Donovan. What a cup he's had. Onyewu didn't even play against Algeria.

Yeah, I know, you need pace at the back. And inventiveness in the midfield. And finishing. And a keeper who can catch.

But who doesn't? Truth is, we have a bunch of international scrubs playing balls-to-the-wall as a team and are doing fine with it. Just like Slovakia (GREAT win!), the Kiwis, Paraguay, Uruguay and even Ghana (who needed a massive result from the Blackshirts..errm..Kiwis...erm..what are they called?) to move into taking on us.

This has been one of the most enjoyable cups I've had the privilege to watch. I really hate it that Denmark and the Swiss are out. I really like how those sides play. But c'est la vie (or for the French, c'est la morte ).

Honestly, I still don't rate Donovan that highly. I've seen Dempsey play most weeks here in the Premier League and I'd rate him above the majority of the players in his attacking midfield role. Plus he can play on the left of midfield. Donovan just didn't seem to be anything above average at Everton, or from the games I saw when he played in Germany.

When Rooney is on form we've got a good attack, the midfield is pretty good except the left wing (and Frank Lampard). What I'm really worried about is Jamie Carragher being back in the line up against Germany, it's bad enough that we started with Matty Upson and John Terry in the last game Why has Ledley King been injured again?

Hey Martin ! Nice to see you too.
I usually try to avoid Big Brothers complain, but today i decided i didn't care ...
probably not wise as i am going to ask another work in my administration (since i succedeed my february exam, i could have an upgrade in rank).
And in the evening at home, my AAR is a bit time consuming, my PBEM too, and the rest of the time, Claire decided that she would have use of Internet...
And you all know how decision is made about internet time between Miss and Mr X (put any player name at the X) ?

Ah yes-convection cooking! Hope you don't have black vinyl seats!

Black leather. They don't put vinyl in a Porsche.

Convection cooking is pretty good, though.

That is how decisions about anything are made, Eric.

Great to hear things are pretty good for you both.

Good morning. You should find it in your inbox when you get home from work. Although, since you generally take 24 to 36 hours per turn , I really should get the same.

If Carragher has to start against Germany he may be the first player to spontaneously combust on the field (or be removed in the first 15 minutes).

I wonder if Argentina vs USA is worth a cheeky punt for the final?

My dad never specified what he did in Korea, but my grandad was in command of the supply depot at Pusan in 1951-52. I think that this was just before he was promoted to brigadier.
