Some dude(s) decided to remake Sting's Englishman in NY.....exactly the same way but with more bass. I just dont get it. Why?

From my favorite album of all time.

My favorite tune is his version of Hendrix's "Little Wing."

I'm going to go put it on quietly now, as my Love is asleep.

"When I'm sad, she comes to me
with a thousand smiles, she gives to me free.
It's alright, she says, it's alright,
Take anything you want from me,
anything."

Jimi was a genius and a poet.

Sting's version is like a dream. If you are in love with someone, anyone, it speaks to your heart.

Yuri, now, at least one good thing has come of the poor remake you heard. Thanks for posting, my Brother.

I cant claim to be a fan of his (as I cant really claim to be a fan of anybody) but there are quite a few songs of his that are very, very good.

Hello, guys... surprised this hasn't been locked up... the original Thread ("Test Thread", aka "Thread I") was locked up for far less display of female flesh... of course, i think it was one photo that kicked the mod over the edge (but he instead of deleting the post, he used the trend to lock up the Thread.)

Most of the old stalwarts seem to be around, with the exception of Bobbo... what happened to him??

I would personally have preferred that it stop long ago, but that's more a case of being annoyed by it, rather than offended.

Making cheesecake today

How'd it turn out?

Looks alright.

Hi Dixie,
Love cheesecake. Only make it couple times a year and have to double the Lipitor dose after I eat it. Being from where you are, you're probably making a german style kasekuchen and not a new York style, yes? Do you have a recipe that keeps the middle from falling in? Could never get that part to work.

Cream cheese, sour cream, eggs, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla extract. Pour that over a base of smashed up digestives. Stick it in the oven for about 10 mins on a high heat then down to a low heat for 20 mins or so. 2 hours of cooling before it gets left in the fridge overnight.

Woof! Sounds good. A lot of the recipes say farmer cheese, but all we can really get in the States is neufchatel. Is your cream cheese like ours'?

For a base of smashed up digestives I use crushed zweiback and some walnuts or roast pecans with melted butter. Great stuff for the rolling pin!
