Who made that last one (B29)...?

Nevermind, I found it...

Where?

Always took one took the lake just in case rained. and sometimes it paided off. Loved sitting in the bunkhouse at the table overlooking the lake playing Guadalcanal. That makes a rainy lake day all better.

My first game was AH Midway way back 1971. WHOA!!

Turning my head right to look at the "game shelf" in my hobby room, I just got struck with how many AH games I have. Didn't think they were so many.

I have; Jutland, Battle of the Bulge, Flat top, Victory in the Pacific, Submarine, The Longest Day, Wooden Ships & Iron Men, Panzerblitz, Panzerleader, Fortress Europa, Panzergruppe Guderian, Civilization, Third Reich, Diplomacy, Up Front, Kingmaker, Kremlin, Titan, Hitlers War, History of the World, Age of Renissance, Merchant of Venus, Rail Baron, Acquire, B-17, TV- Wars, Titan:The Arena and finally 1830.

Many hours have been spent playing those games ... love them ... fond memories of the youth "game holidays" & "game weekends"

ETA; I don't have Midway though

I've got 2/3 of them, including Midway. That one is particularly memorable , due to a minor error in the rules that allowed me to be exceedinly "gamey" against one of other other memebers (Capt. Hornblower). Combat effectiveness was based upon the number of torpedo's a plane could carry. So a PBY was twice as powerfull as a Kate!

Imagine my opponents dismay when the KB was wiped out by a 32 plane PBY strike!

So that's where your "Emily complex" came from.

Didn't see '1776' in the lot.

Looks about the same amount I have in the library plus many SPI bookcase and those $7.00 cheepo packaged SPI's. Great stuff.

Actually , its due to two "Birdbrains" of the Thread, Chickenboy, and Chicken of the Sea, both of whom wiped me out in the Thousand mile war scenario by using Ms. Emily.

It won't happen again. I won't give Emily a chance, and I won't play anyone named "Chicken anything" in that scenario!

... and now i managed to remind myself about that set of SL, COI, COD & GI plus some 12 extra maps that I lent to a former friend.

He moved to a new city and never gave me my games back.

And Vassal makes it so nice to play some of old classics without clearing the dining room table off for couple of months.

BTW, pics as proof. Can be at least a little proud of my collection.

BTW2; Did I mention that I'm a board game geek ... ?

Nice collection.

My addiction started with Afrika Karps in 1969. Many AH titles followed in rapid succssion, with SPI, Battleline and Yaquinto also gaining many of my dollars back then. I haven't had a F-t-F opponent in over a decade, but WITP/AE has filled that void quite well.

And and one ticked off GFU. Then she realized what she had done and was very sorry. Were still chums to this day.

I am a wee bit jealous....my two brothers and I play Axis and Allies every chance we're together if we're not golfing...

I'd like to have a few more games. But the lack of opponents has curtailed that. Not to mention the fact that my wife, the woman who watches Britain's Got Talent, Teen Mom and has read all the Twilight books, has openly mocked me for owning even the few games that I have

LOL... reminds me of a time back in college when two of my friends and I were doing an all-night hallucinogen-influenced WSIM three way and my girlfriend showed up. I waas waayyy too involved in our battle so I brushed her off that night. The next time I pulled that game out to play I found editorial remarks pencilled in on the pargins of one of the CRTs...

Ah - one of my greatest triumphs was with this game - pretty much crushing the German army with the French... i would have completely annihilated one half of the German Army except my opponents convinced me that the move that would have encircled the German Army was illegal... i found out the next day it WAS legal.

Yeah, but it was a "gamey" move. After all, everybody knows that the French in 1940 were incapable of moving forward!

The French were definately capable of moving forward. They , like the BEF , were doing just that, when they were "Taken in the rear!"
