Watching, The Cosmic Monsters on TCM in my hotel room.

Scott- you seem to be away from home. What is it you do for a living, if you don't mind me asking? I think I have asked before too, we vacation every year in Colorado in the Springs and Pagosa, but were do you lay your head at night?

Cheers.

I was in Flagstaff last week for vacation at the Grand Canyon. I was on my way back home and my engine went out of my vehicle near Tuba City AZ, 70 miles North of Flagstaff. I am back here in Flagstaff to pick up my vehicle tomorrow, hopefully no more delays. I live in North Denver metro area.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your friend, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Author unknown...but touched by the finger of God.

Thanks John. I have two there right now. 3 awaiting.

Dmitri is our rescue cat. Took almost a year and a half for him to trust us. Now he's the cuddliest old boy imaginable. And big...he's part Maine coon.

Dang! Your part-Maine Coon looks alot like my part-Maine Coon. His name is Desi. Don't know about yours, but mine talks (meows) at me all the time and is really a heart stealer! He'll even play bite me on my calf if I'm not responding to him.

He can catch flying toys in the air when I toss them very high. Thought at one point he might make a great receiver for the NFL the way he can snag things in mid flight.

They do! Dmitri can catch flies, and not the baseball kind. The flying kind. Amazing. They do talk a lot. He also loves prosciutto.

No doubt about it. Every time I fix me a deli-sliced honey ham for lunch he goes wild! Meowing, twisting and turning, trying to let me know he's begging.

What can I do at that point??? Well, you know the answer.

And, yes, Desi loves the flying insects of all kinds - his ultimate challenge unless they get up into the vaulted ceiling for escape.

Normally I'd leave well alone, but I'm confused, although not as confused as "he" now seems to be.

Apart from calling Steve racist for some reason he's claimed he's a registered member but continues to use his "wife's" account. He's also signed as B29, JPD and antrax

Can't say how lucky I am to still have a gaming group to play regularely with

BTW, pics as proof. Can be at least a little proud of my collection.

BTW2; Did I mention that I'm a board game geek ... ?

Wow nice collection man I have just gotten back into Board gaming. I wish I had more time but unfortunately life keeps getting in the way. I've played alot of Paths of Glory the last couple months. I ordered Twilight Struggle which is coming out in a reprint soon. I wish there was a good Vietnam game I could get my hands on but they all seem to be out of print the good one's that is.

You're trying to understand a mentally ill individual. Don't.

Speaking of cartoon characters, Duke Nukem Forever is out. Only took them, what, 15 years?

Hi all,

quote:

ORIGINAL: JWE

Ok, so we got the vet report back on Beaudy. He's not quite the mess we originally thought, but he's still a bit of a mess. Back left leg is atrophied, and has a cartilage pop on flexion. Not unexpected, and he's still pretty happy about his butt. Vet can fix that, and make him comfy.

Sent his bladder stones off to U. of Minnesota for assay. Results, folded in to his blood work, will tell the whole tale, and say what we should keep our eyes peeled for. Once we get those results back, it's diet definition time; the Hills vets are intensely interested in what's up with Beaudy. They want him as a poster child for dietary mediation. I like them. They are worried about the dog, not their CVs or what they can hustle.

Anyhoo, Beaudy has the absolute best of care (from our vet, Ann Rankin) and some serious corporate sponsorship, so my little pup ought to get righteous pretty darn quick. Will report, if ya'll care.

Ciao. John

You've got quite a few games there, haven't you?

My collection is more modest:

Arctic Convoy
Cruiser Warfare
Flashpoint: Golan
NATO: Next War in Europe
WWII: ETO

To be joined shortly by Steel Wolves

I'm seriously considering Steel Wolves. I also want GMT's Normandy game and maybe their NightFighter too. I'm going to be getting the second half of MMPs massive Arnhem game too when it comes out.

I'm trying The RAF are being a bit slow to move me though, not sure that needing someone to play wargames with is what they'll see as a good reason either. I've been promised a move, but I'll believe it when I actually see it.
