Anyone have any thoughts on WitE?  good/bad/indifferent, seeing as it's on sale I may be tempted into splashing some cash.

It's good; not AE good, but good. Worth the reduced price.

Have the major issues with it been addressed? I remember much grumbling but don't know the issues for myself.

That looks more like a scone. This is a biscuit:

No. That looks more like a tortilla.
ETA: Could be a cookie too.

Looks like an oatmeal cookie to me.

Yep, that's a cookie. Biscuits is what holds the gravy.

My wife made biscuits and gravy the other morning. Biscuits from scratch. Good eats!

Ask brother brush hat. He considers himself part of that WiTE community and can advise accordingly.

Ok you computer geeks. I put this in the tech area, but I don't want to wait. 32 or 64 bit Windows 7. Which one for AE?

Tempted to go for the Faber.

That was a pretty poor attempt

If you did a Faber like this (http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2405660&mpage=15&key=) I'd be a lot more impressed...

While I'm sure the content is quite up to par, Reg, someone has to point out that your target page is NOT a faber. Post 3 on that page is from someone other than Les.

Hey Mike, it really depends on how much ram you have available to run the Windows OS. I don't know how it works for sure with your Mac, but basically Win 32 can't use more than 3 GB of ram. AE will run on either version.

There's really no reason not to go 64bit

Mike, what PC you have?

Specs?

How much RAM?

If you have under 4 GB (well 3.2 GB to be exact) then you are OK with 32 bit Windows 7 - if you have more (for example I have 12 GB RAM) then you must use 64 bit version because you can't utilize that extra RAM with old 32 bit OS version...

Nope. AE will cheerfully run on both 32 and 64bit, so you might as well get the latter.

Do any of you guys know how to Ignore/Block a forum profile if that profile has never made a post, but only sends PM's?  I got a strange one from a user who never posted, named Tolstoy, who said he has recently moved to NC and was curious about other gamers in the area.....interested in getting a WiF game going.  When I noticed zero forum posts, I asked who else he is on the forums.  The reply was something along the lines of "not divulging any identification information, except under interrogation."

I suspect it's an alias of one of our resident trolls, although much too coherently written to be Japan/etc.

Hmm ... concerning the word "Spunk" you guys commented on above, there we have one of those "different meaning in different languages" again

That particular word means something entirely different in Swedish. Here, it's slang for something along the lines of "Chutzpah".

Sure, Per, sure.

It is also used here for a person who has a lot of energy and is lively.  However, that is not the most convenient definition for us to use in the current "out of context" context.

Or Civ IV?

Maybe "Best Grand Scale Eastern Front".

Martin, is Civ IV really that good? I may have played more hours of Civ II and III than anyone on the planet, but I got Civ IV as a gift at the same time I got WitP, and I've never ended up even installing it.
