Appari is taken and the Imperial Japanese Army gains a foothold on the Philippines.

Message Intercepted from Imperial HQ

Top Secret

Turn 7:-

The American Navy turns up with a CA in tow, and gives me a scare, but although a destroyer is reduced to matchwood, they keep them away from the Transports.

Just to add insult to injury, after the American Battlegroup departs, a lone Gunboat chances its arm, and before it even gets into range, DD21 just sinks on its own.

S-35 is your horror, but I'll do my utmost to turn S-36 into your horror as well!

Yep...I'm starting to see why Beatty, Fischer and Jellicoe were so afflicted with 'Periscopeitis' during WWI

All a bit quieter this turn, just the odd shell splash, loads more troops piling into Guam, and the advance into the hinterland of Manchuria continues.

Where did that confounded American CA disappear to??

Statement by the HQ of the Entente Coordiale:
Imposing unresricted warfare is unacceptable. We will respond appropriate, should the Japanese subs sink neutral shipping!
The Entente HQ also demands an immediate retreat out of Allied territorial waters around Hong Kong and Rabaul. The entente's navy will be forced to chase the intrudes away, should the Japanese forces not be withdrawn.

Statement From the Imperial Palace.

The Imperial Japanese Empire bows to the demands of the Entente HQ, and withdraws from Hong Kong and Rabaul, in a gesture of peace and goodwill towards her gracious 'allies'

Elsewhere, the Ententes Submariners prowl the waterways like sharks instilling yet more 'periscopeitis' into the Japanese High Command,
a few depth charges are dropped, and Japanese troops walk ashore at Legaspi, Dadjangas and Davao.

It was two torpedoes, and the "BB" is heavy damaged!

Elsewhere, Torsten's subs continue to scare the bejesus out of the Japanese High Command,
several ASW TF's are despatched to the landing zones, a few grenades get chucked out of some planes,
and Dadjangas falls to Imperial Japan.

Not too bad so far.

The game is cooling down, somewhat.

With the majority of his forces onshore in the PI, there's not much to do for my surface combattants that are left in this area. Many of them need repairs, others need updates.

Still, the encounters were very successfull. While I've lost an old US CL with a top speed of just 24kn, 3 DDs and a couple of PGs, he has lost one pre-Dreadnought BB, a modern CL and a few DDs.

Especially the lost BB is nice!

It is categorically denied the Katori has been sunk by the Yankee dogs.
Katori is on a long good will cruise off South America ( Eastern Seaboard ), and will be off the Navy list's for some unspecified time.
