1) Introduce new tank types actually present in the theater of operation in large quantities (i.e. Panzer II, Valentine, Matilda, T-26 etc.)
2) Allow the editor to modify the stats or the existing pieces of equipement and to create new ones
3) Rationalize the spelling of city names. Now the game uses English, German and Dutch transliterations all mixed up.
(not a big problem but if might be confusing for someone)

Actualy 2) is already possible.

Best,
Vic

Yes Victor,
this is an issue that should be fixed.

Just moving up an idea from another thread:

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3147924

There doesn't seem to be (if I read right) a penalty to a unit that withdraws from contact with an enemy unit (i.e. moves out of it's ZOC). However, my understanding is this is a very hard maneuver in practice, and in games can allow rather unrealistic redeployments across lines to achieve local superiorities.

Would it be possible to give AP or readiness penalties when moving out of ZOCs to reflect the difficulty of this maneuver?

[edit - spelling corrections ]

Krupp..you not one of those my daughter keeps going on about a Bronie are you? Going by your My Little Pony pics. I got very worried when she told me men on the net where into my little pony. I then blocked all my little pony stuff on her PC. Though it is most likely innocent it is abit worrying. If you are one, please help me with my concerns.

wodin your so silly, I would never call myself a 'bronie' that would be a little bit obsessive don't you think? If I had to approach your question from a psycho-analysis point of view; It may be a counter cultural response to a phyche of fear-mongering, violence enriched media and culture. Regarding the nature of the people enjoying the show, I can't tell if they are more or less deranged than the average bystander. If you want to keep your daughter safe i suppose i would advise blocking my little pony black people nazis jews, priests and atheists from your browser.

Silly???

You think I'm being silly? Listen my daughter was talking to me about grown men into My Little Pony called Bronies or something. So if you think I'm silly being concerned over that? I presume you have no kids of your own. If you do then your reply becomes quite shocking.

I saw your avatar. Then thought you maybe someone to ask a sensible question to as I had concerns. Oh how wrong I was.

Also why on earth have you brought up black people etc etc. What exactly are you accusing me of here???

There is a huge difference between black people and Jews etc compared to grown men saying they are into little girls cartoons on the net. You really don't think any right minded parent might be a touch concerned when they hear that? We all know whether you like it or not the net is a hive for pedophiles, and that isn't fear induced media nonsense either.

Finally my daughter is a vulnerable child in certain respects so yes I'm over cautious. However I think any right minded parent would have concerns with regards to this subject.

Anyway sorry everyone for taking this off topic. I never expected that reply at all.

I noticed, but I got a crash as soon as I tried to add an item, so I thought it was still an untested feature.
Perhaps one of your useful "how to" post on the blog would be welcome in this respect.

Thanks for designing a great game (and user-friendly mod-wise too!)

Vic, in the next patch please consider adding Valentines, Matildas, Soviet T26 and the BT series tanks to the inventory. I've been doing some OOB research and the Soviets are lacking all of these tanks from their OObs. It would help our modding efforts a great deal!

I second this. The game would benefit a lot in terms of realism.

If you open the OOB screen, select a unit and then close the OOB screen with the F4 key, not by clicking on the tab, your unit stays selected.
It should be repaired anyway.

Yes.

Other work around is to close with 'ESC' or by clicking anywhere in the top bar of the screen.

best,
Vic

Suggestions / requests:

- Hotkey for Hex hide/show.
- Also mouse wheel zoom in all modes (e. g. Supply mod mouse wheel won't work - zooming with the buttons do).
- Reconnaissance aircraft.
- Medals and awards for successful regiments.
- I would love to see counter animation. Makes the game more alive!

Question:
And now we get a volume control or not?

Confirmed. Will try to get this fixed asap.
Only workaround I can think off at this moment is that if own Advanced Tactics Gold copying the contents of the graphics/default directories to the same directory place in CB.

best,
Vic

Hotkey 0 already hides the units. Or do you mean something else?

I am adding further zoom wheel improvements on list for Patch 2 and will look into volume control for that same patch.

Basically fighters are intended to be used as recon aircraft.

Best,
Vic

1. To plan and I often switch between the view with and without hex grids.
A hotkey would make choose much more comfortable as select F1 - disable hex grid - select F1 again later and select F1 - Turn on hex grid - select F1 again.

A hotkey for this or change place with the save button on the button Bar.
I don't think we don't need a save button on the button bar.

2. Yes, but I bet reconnaissance aircraft (for which players have to add an escort) would be a welcome addition for many of us.
Also adding an escort to your reconnaissance duty will provide us an addition tactical option.
I would love to see the Fieseler Storch here on the German side.

And ... redmarkus4 and Krupp 88mm again would have something to do again!

Generals / commanders of the SS should be allowed to command only SS units.
Generals / commanders of the armed forces may only command Wehrmacht units.
and the generals and commanders of the Luftwaffe are only available to the Air Force.

Or:
If Generals / commanders command units to which they don't belong, then there should be a penalty.

Is that historical? I think that in actuality they crossed over? I'm not sure...

As for the Wehrmacht and SS, I'm sure.
The relationship was tense, suspicious and marked by mutual contempt.
With the Luftwaffe, I'm not 100% sure, but I don't know a case.
But can you imagine a Luftwaffe general is commanding tanks?

I'm pretty sure, from memory, that SS and Wehrmacht officers never directly commanded units belonging to the other group, sort of. IIRC it *did* happen, especially but not only late in the war, that SS units might be attached to Wehrmacht formations and vice versa - at mid to high level, mostly. So, for example, you might have a Panzer Corps of mainly Wehrmacht units with a single SS Division attached.

But having a Wehrmacht general command an SS Division? Or SS officer command a Wehrmacht Regiment? Nope.

As for the Luftwaffe ... most of the Luftwaffe ground commanders were so pathetic (bad training/lack of training) that even letting them command Luftwaffe Ground Divisions was a bad idea ... commanding anyone else's divisions? *Really* bad idea.

So, at Divisional level or below, no. At Corps or Higher level, depends, sometimes.

Sure Luftwaffe generals commanded non Luftwaffe troops. Albert Kesselring for example. I'm guessing he was not the only one (though I am sure some knowledgeable type here will prove me wrong!)

Kesselring was a Theater Commander, of course, I really meant at Divisional level and below ... I really should have been clearer

I agree there should be an enlargment of certian text...I paint 6mm miniatures and I am having trouble reading the screen!

As well ART units seem to be incredibly hard to kill. I have attacked them with tanks and they stop the attacks dead. Seems a bit unhistorical...

Unit colors need to be made better, lighter and perhaps blink on same HQ - otherwise great game!

Thaks!

Is there a way to see a unit's TOE (that is, it's starting OOB) within the Unit Details screen itself? Right now, the only way is to click on the OOB screen and find the unit there. That works, but maybe it would be nice to have a "link" right in the unit's own detail screen to its page in the OOB screen?

Not a high priority, but if it were easy to code, it'd be nice.

ashenz wrote 'If you decide to implement 'undo' function, please prevent it from being used as cheating tool.'

Standard way of dealing with this as a cheat is that you can't 'undo' if the move shows anything that wasn't showing before.

Most of my desired 'undo' moves are when I am clicking through my units to see who can come forward and fight. A previously selected regiment, for whom I have checked the 'Move Unit' arrow purely in order to see how far it could move, ends up going backwards!!! This causes my Corps Commanders some distress.

Thoroughly enjoying the game - thanks
