A friend of mine was an exchange student in scotland. When he was in the local pub, a guy said:
"You have a strange accent. Where are you from?"
"Germany"
"Get a beer on me, your grandpa bombed England!"

Good morning all.

Hope those the had yesterday off enjoyed it.

We hand a wonderful time at the zoo, despite it being 107 degrees. Our boys really enjoyed the animals that were active. The grizzy bear, watter buffalo, petting zoo, tiger, hippo, giraffe, and all of the monkey/apes were especially our oldest's favorites. Since the last time we went a couple of months ago, a gorrilla ran up really fast and smashed the glass right in front of him. He was really scared of course, but that is all he has been talking about since then. "Rilla fast. Bang glass daddy" This time he watched the hippo eat right in front of him. "Hipp chomp romp chomp daddy, blow". He especially enjoyed all of the reptiles/fish exhibits, as he could stand in front of them the whole time and look through the glass.

Wonderful time.

BTW, the frogs we saw were "wrestling" as I told my son.

Nice.

For my 5 YO daughter, the squirrels in the backyard are 'playing' with one another this time of year.

It's not like that is entirely untrue. There is some play involved....

Evening tithe... Thanks for the good wishes.

It is actually quite good in here, as the Nurses are great, and the food is real good.

The only downside is the air-conditioning, which plays havoc with my complexion.

Hope everything is goin ok!

Marc- That joke is hilarious. I hope that doesn't offend anyone.
Andre- The squirrels are busy here too...hahaha
Steve- My wife and I have zero wrestling and thus, zero playing involved...hope our two boys enjoy being brothers.. thats all they get at this rate..
Dixie- My wife wont let me teach him anything anymore. I told him the alternative word for donkey...he repeated it 50 times a day for 2 weeks.. finally stopped. Now, he thinks Donkey is a bad word.... so he egs me on all of the time to get a reacation... hell look down and stare up at me with a grin..."Don..key" Then I tell him to stop.. he runs away...comes back...."Daddy...eh ah eah (donkey sound) and runs off....love that kid.

BTW, what stuff do you guys sell at those events?

All sorts of great stuff. If you're reading this boss, promote me! I bought a t-shirt for Josh at the weekend.

T-shirts and jackets, calendars, kid sized black flying suits, art prints including several limited editions, signed prints, hip flasks and all the other trinkets you usually get at museum shops. For the kiddies (or men in their 40s who should have tried harder at school) we also give out posters, this year it was the Spitfire on one side and the Lanc on the other. If the aircrew are able to then they'll come down and sign the posters for the kids.

Cool!

BTW, nice stuff tom send to buddies from "THE THREAD!!!"...

true.

But while I hate what our politians are turning EU into and how this monstrous instituion and its currency turn out...

Isn't it great that we can laugh about such things now? Let's just hope the politicians don't **** it up again!

Hi all,

I sure labored over this long weekend. Bought a car for my wife to put her 160 miles/day into that gets around 38 mpg.

That much commute every day?

BTW, are you guys starting to consider all electric (or hybrid electric / petrol) cars like Volt yet?

Hi Leo, no all electric cars for us, at least not for my wife's commute. She's out on the open highway for most of her miles, so all electric is not convenient, or likely even possible. But also, the cost of these cars is still waaaaaay to high. With the number of miles she drives, we will burn up the value of the car in 3 years or less. Bought a 2010 Focus for 1/4 the cost of a Volt.

RGR Mike - thanks for info!

BTW, how much is MPG for your Porsche (i.e. is it new or old model)?

Be nice! Besides, a shilling was worth a lot more back then! What was it, 20 shillings in a pound?

I was referring to the mainland, but if we're referring to the Orkneys... You're wrong, the reef was created by the Kriegsmarine and not the Luftwaffe

Do be sure to say 'hello' to your buddies there in North Carolina this week, won't you? Must do you proud to host the DNC in NC.

Tough game for a season opener. Miles and Whitten still day-by-day too. G-men Superbowl champs. Dunno. I'm a long-term fan of the boys, but this is a tough matchup.

Here's hoping the G-men have their traditional crap start to the season.
