I'm definitely a nerd, I understand the joke.

Cool joke, BTW.

Fortunately, we now live in an era where being called a nerd is no longer an insult. In fact, it's considered a complement nowadays.

I'm one of the proud nerds.

Yes. And a proud yutz and putz to boot! Well done old boy!

Much like with African Americans and the n-word, gentiles shouldnt be using that kind of language in public.

Definitely the Kiwi way of doing things, we may tell little porkies from time to time, but we always own-up (sort-off).

Feh. Tell it to Mel Brooks. He's the source of 2/3 of my Yiddish swear vocabulary. As his movies are in widespread acclaim and in the public venue, I consider myself absolved. Feel free to carry on with the balance of your schmegegge now, Comrade.

Shows what you know.

Schmegegge is a descriptive noun not an action.

Now, good day sir. I said good day!

Right-schmegegge meaning 'baloney' or 'hot air'. Feel free to carry on with the balance of your schmegegge now. Good day and good night.

Let me rephrase that for the particularly feeble-minded. The correct usage of the word is 'Chickenboy is a schmegegge" not "Chickenboy is engaged in schmegegge".

One again, good day!

Hi all,

Bad news from the home front. Dad has gone back into the ICU and his condition has not improved. I'm travelling there for the duration.

Apologies to Steve and Des for the delay in the games, but duty calls.

See y'all in the funny pages.

Can a man get a "HAIL THE THREAD" around here?

To be honest, I've more or less stopped watching Anime since college, but that was an awesome series and this looks like an awesome box set.

...to be filed in the "learn something new everyday" category, after listening to an NPR Fresh Air piece on a new book about L. Ron Hubbard and subsequently googling him, i learned that Hubbard commanded two naval craft in WWII (a YP on the east coast and a PC on the west coast)...anyone seen Ltjg Hubbard in the game? apparently, his inspiration would be 99, but his admin and naval skills would be single digit...

I've not played HOI3 but 2 was fun in it's own way. It's nowhere near as in depth as WitP and certainly not realistic but it is grand scale. I had a game in 2 where Germany didn't invade Poland. Which meant no war in Europe. But the Japanese smashed the US heavily which meant that I beat Japan with just the commonwealth nations. I also managed to grab large chunks of China and the Philippines.

Whether things changed much between the two I couldn't say.

...thanks for the thoughts...i tried the first HOI, and to be honest, didn't think it was that bad, but as stated, my expectations weren't in the stratosphere...i guess i'm fishing for comparisons of I vs III before i make the dive, i.e. what's better in III or maybe worse...

...and yes, NOTHING compares with the end-all-be-all AE!
