For a moment there I was afraid you were reading Perez Hilton again.

Who?

I'll assume youre not just playing coy and tell you that it one of those Hollywood insiders whose blog the WU reads. I was so sure that its where you get all your news.

Never heard of him / her / it before in my life. Worthwhile (from the humor vantage) read?

I was with you until the cheese, Leo. Havent had a taste for it since I was a kid.

Even I have standards about drinking. Wine for breakfast? A *bit* too early for that, I'm afraid.

Wasted 90 minutes in an all-hands staff meeting at work today. It was like being inside a Dilbert comic.

No. They both have hair. I'm thinking that guy with the shaved head and the enormous throbbing melon.

Hur hur, you said "melon"... I was definitely Dilbert. The meeting consisted of the Grande Bossette talking at us for an hour, and then the sales manager mumbling for a further 30 minutes. Death. By. Powerpoint.

I'm glad I've only got a week left at the place.

Interview today..

Me - "How much do you think you're worth to this company, and what you could bring to it if we bring you on?"

Trader - "I would be able to bring a sizable portion of my current deck I believe. Of the 6 to $700,000 deck, I could see myself bringing $500,000 of that by a couple of years. I think I am worth about 3 to $400,000 of that"

Me - "We're not the New York Yankees son....think more of the KC Royals"

Trader - "I would like to make more than 5 figures a year, sir"

Me - "The majority of their players would too...

Trader - "...."

One would have thought that that phrase would have gone out of style when the ex-WW2 military guys were leaving the workforce in the 70s and 80s.....along with that "War Room" nonsense.

The other gem is "Town Hall". Sorry, its not a Town Hall if youre the only one who gets to talk.

Trader - "I would like to make more than 5 figures a year, sir"

Me - "The majority of their players would too...

What's a deck?

And what job is he applying for?

I take it upon myself to honor the 'town hall' meeting format in my place of work by being the village idiot. Every town needs one to liven things up a bit.

A bunch of cards.

One that pays more than 5 figures.

Aren't you paying attention?

Oh, thanks for clearing that up Andre.

Hey Jeff, if I bring you a set of Uno, can I have a 6 figure salary?

Dude, mentioning the KC Royals is hardly good for incoming employee morale. I'm surprised the young gun didn't break down crying when you compared his future at your company to them.

At least you didn't compare yourself to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
