ORIGINAL: jeffk3510 Interview today.. Me - "How much do you think you're worth to this company, and what you could bring to it if we bring you on?" Trader - "I would be able to bring a sizable portion of my current deck I believe. Of the 6 to $700,000 deck, I could see myself bringing $500,000 of that by a couple of years. I think I am worth about 3 to $400,000 of that" Me - "We're not the New York Yankees son....think more of the KC Royals" Trader - "I would like to make more than 5 figures a year, sir" Me - "The majority of their players would too... Trader - "...." What's a deck? And what job is he applying for? Haha. A deck is someone's current trading "deck". It is a slang term for how much business they can bring...their "deck". He is applying for a trading position. He trades corn, beans, wheat, milo..etc.. Still dont get it. Although you make it sound a lot like Pokemon or that Magic the Gathering thing. Does this "deck" refer to skills, experience and market knowledge or is he bringing in actual commodities? Your last sentence, yes. I never take physical deliver of product to my location..it's all paper. A deck is just what you said. Skills, knowledge, customer base that allows you to generate money...your "deck"
