If you'd had said it was designed as an intercontinental sheep transporter people may have believed you.

Actually we don't ship live sheep to the UK, but we do ship mutton and lamb, which comes from dead sheep. This meat is shipped to the UK in refrigerated containers, which we also use to bring thousands of British immigrants back to New Zealand. With the temperature of the containers being showily increased on the return journey, to acclimatize the immigrants to New Zealand's better weather.

Meanwhile in Australia.

Have you ever wondered why the speed cameras are mounted on the bumpers of vehicles???

Back in the days when speed cameras were new fangled devices, the South Australia transport dept used to have the cameras mounted on tripods which they set up on the side of the road. That is until one day a car swerved across the road, mounted the kerb, ran down the speed camera then steered back onto the road and sped away in a cloud of exhaust fumes.... It happened so fast the camera operator didn't even get a good description of the car, let alone a description of the driver or the number plate.

True story as I remember reading about it in the newspapers at the time.

Good morning all.

Spring? -13F. We may have broken the record the low on this date.
Say Andre how much snow is on the ground down in the cities? At least 24" inches here. A compacted 52". Next up, spring flooding. Hope it's a slow melt. I think the river will go over 50' this year. Golfing looks to be at the end of May early June. Last year it was in the 70's and the courses were open.

Yeah. Not quite so bitter here, but woke up to 3F. Colder than yesterday. Spring indeed...

Officially, there's something like 18" at MSP. We've had something like your 52", maybe 48" range. We hope there's a slow melt too, Shani. It's about this time of year that Fargo/Moorehead is always front and center in the news. Always for sandbag filling and flooding.

Cheer up, mate. Final 5 this weekend. Hope you lot make it to the semifinals so we can send you packing.

The Red Star Tribune had some more information about the UND hockey program. It really is a standout-as much as UM-for excellence. This will be your 10th sequential trip to the Western championships this year. Ties our record from 1999-2009.

Should be a few great games starting tonight. Other conferences should watching to see how real hockey is played, right CB. Hope the Gopher's are shining up thier golf clubs. So how is comrade Sid Hartman these days? UND still eating at him? If so our job is complete.

Nothing for a big warm up in the near future. And now I'm hoping for cool weather. There is just no pleasing me.

Sid is our version of sportscaster Ed Schultz (ex-R) now (D). At least we were able to get his butt thrown off the air. Then the butthead makes it nationally on MSNBC. Now it looks like he's getting the boot again.

Not many people remember Keith Oberman when he did local sports for KTLA in Los Angeles. I do. I remember thinking to myself at the time, "Geez, this guy is a total pseudointellectual egotistical jerk***." Time was to show just HOW right that was.

The guy I like out of the cities is Patrick Reusse. Especailly on Garage Logic with Joe soucheray and the Rookie. Damn that show cracks me up. To bad I don't have speakers at my desk or I'd be listening on-line. You listen to that broadcast CB? Can't wait for the garage door opener.

I think the lesson here is that its all a matter of perspective. Non-intellectuals like Hannity and O'Reilly have been on the air for years with no sign of slowing down. Meanwhile, I can think of quite a few people, including quite a few here, who would cream their pants if Maddow, who out of the whole bunch is probably the only one actually qualified to comment on all those topics, were to lose her show.

Bottom line, dont start nuthing, wont be nuthin and no politics in the Thread.

What is this Sun of which you speak. I assume it's some sort of primitive local term for electric lights?

Well, there was that one day in July 1957 when you guys had sun almost the whole day.

So your the keeping MSNBC on the air. Stop watching so we can get another movie or history type channel. Better yet - The War Movie Channel.
Or are being punished

Oh dear, where do I start... Though I fear it is too late for you people of the old country.

So I will put it as simply as I can; The Sun which we can see down here, and because of our clear blue sky. Is the source of all natural light on this earth, but unfortunately because of pollution and bad weather you northerners haven't seen for many years.

I spent two years in the UK and Ireland in the late eighties, and only remember a brief hazy view of the sun, from the Antrim Coast in Northern Ireland.
