Well to speed things along in my game against the AI, I let the computer play both sides into May 42. Somehow the AI managed to lose three US CVs off the coast of Saipan in Apr 42. I smell a conspiracy.

In other interesting events...imagine my surprise when I scrolled across the map to find sushi being served at Perth rather than shrimp on the Barbie. Japan occupies the entire western coast of Australia.

Spent the last week of the game cleaning up the mess the AI made of my units and supplies....it's like turning over the command of your logistics to a 4 year old.

That's probably a good way to give yourself a challenge as the Allies and make for an interesting game vs. the AI.

Neverending problems for Boeing's newest 787 Dreamliner...

Ethiopean 787 fire at Heathrow

There is clear proof that composite skin melted at the top and that there is considerable hole... I don't know how is composite skin repaired as opposed to standard aluminum skin...

It's my understanding that the 787 batteries and auxiliary power unit are located in the airplanes 'belly', not near the tail. That area looks more like the service deck / restroom area. While it's a legitimate suggestion that this was yet another battery fire, it's way too early to conclude that.

Maybe someone smoking (illegally) in the restrooms? Or the third class passengers fired up their hibachi and it got a little out of control?

BTW APU fires usually start with a large tongue of flame coming out of the intake. It leaves a lot of soot, and would be easy to see against a white aircraft.

According to 787 diagrams the restrooms are below that area...

But, still, Boeing 787 really has a long long recent string of problems (APU / batteries included)...

Nice schematics, Leo.  The fire looks as though it burned through right in the area of the crew's rear quarters.  Steve's 'smoking' observation may not be so far off the mark.  Of course, it could also have been someone intentionally ****ing with the airline in the interests of sticking one in the eye of the great Satan and its industrial efforts too.

Who knows?  I'm confident that the NTSB and on-site investigation will uncover the truth.

No no no. The manufacturer of the jet. One of the biggest manufacturers in the United States. There's so many eyes on it now with the battery issues that intentional sabotage would be a great way to drop the stock price and cause some more doubts about the airframe. Which is just what happened (the stock price / doubt).

So the great satan is Airbus?

Wouldnt take Slaakman many seconds to "connect the dots" and come up with some conspiracy theory involving Boeing, Airbus, Ethiopian Airlines and ofc the illuminati....

I'm confused here. Boing is the manufacture, Airbus is a competitor. What am I missing here?

The Dreamliner that caught fire. Had been on the ground for 8 hours and the only ppl that supposedly had been onboard since the crew left the plane was maintenance ppl from the Ethiopian Airlines.

Boeing is the manufacturer of the Ethiopian Airways jet that caught fire on the tarmac at Heathrow the other day. I'm not sure where the Airbus comment arose. My "Great Satan" comment was suggesting an intentional effort to discredit an airline with a clear American lineage by damaging their flagship brand and state-of-the-art production systems.

I'd consider economic motivations a possibility here until proven otherwise.

Well, who would would be more or less the only competitor that would benefit at leased directly from ur suggested industrial sabotage?

Not suggesting that at all, Walloc. Investigations into intentional adulteration of foodstuffs suggest that the most common bad actors are disgruntled workers that don't have a macroeconomic axe to grind-just a petty personal one. It's much more likely that than some SLAAK-approved grand Machievellian conspiracy.

Gotcha. My first instinct would prolly be more of an accident type event. Ppl not use to new type of plane, new materiels and so forth. Not that u can rule out sabotage. U just seemed to me and i apologiese if i misread u, jump to the anti American angle some what fast. I mean not that we make that many planes. Except in lego's and had a hand in the makings of Fisker Karma Electric cars. I wouldnt at first suspect the fires in those having much other to do than with incompetence/new production methodes and general childs diseases for new techs on its demise.

You know, when i made two types of aircrafts in a mod i only put weapons in the bottom slots. I saw today that all other aircrafts have engines.

Since my B-52(yes, the B-52 that is currently used) managed to fly to Pearl, start 14 000 000 fires in Tokyo as well as taking out 3 HI points, i wonder what they used to fly them with, hot air?

Strange thing is, why is Tokyo still reporting as standing since hundreds B-52s with 40,000 tons of bombs attack in 3 nights in a row.

Yes, its Downfall.

Think of it this way, its better to have a 787 start to burn while standing on the ground than 10,000 meters in the air, with passengers, half way between Hawaii and Japan.
