Good Morning!

Well, fodder, are you ready for some football?

FOOTBALL starts TONIGHT! YAY!

The first game of the year is a big one for me.

I've literally got my money on Denver. Giving up 8.5.
I've picked Denver in all my pick'em leagues.
I have the Manning, Welker combo in both martix leagues.
My opponent in the pro-league has Flacco as his Q/W/R/T.

So, Welker is going to catch twelve, two of them for touchdowns. Flacco is going to throw a record nomber of interceptions and spend most of the game on his back.

Making me very happy.

Home-made chicken pot pie, anybody? A third less cost per serving than Marie Callenders with twice the delliciouness.

Cook a chicken, or if you are cheap, like me, get a rotissery chicken from Winn-Dixie. Cut in half and pull the meat off the bones.
Finely chop half a Vidalia onion;
Finely chop two carrots;
Finely chop two big celery stalks;
Saute all that in 2-3 tbs butter for about 3 mins. Add 1/4 cup flour and keep going for 1 more minute, stirring constantly;
Add 2-3 (less is better) cups chicken broth, saute till bubbling;
Add tarragon, parsley, thyme (whatever you want) and salt, pepper, turmeric;
Add 1/4 half-and-half and 1/4 cup white wine (if ya do this use 2 cups of chicken broth), let bubble for a sec;
Pour into a baking dish; has to be almost half as deep as wide. Too shallow, or too deep, and it will suck;

Now, you can make a crust if you want to but I get some pre-fabbed Winn_Dixie deep dish pie crusts, let one come to room temp, and lay it over the baking dish filled with goodness. Do the oven at 375 and cook for 25-30 minutes. Brown, crispy crust and thick, concentrated goodies.

Jimmy Buffet's sister has a resaturant and we sometimes trade recipes. One day one of her chefs said 'hey, caint ya do sumfin wif saifood in i?' so I did this whith oysters and clams instead of chicken, used artichoke hearts instead of celery, cut back of the added liquids 'cause of what was coming from the shellfish. Shut his mouf!

Ciao. JWE

So fraps might be my best option, even though I'll have to spend cash on it. Not shareware, but try-before-you-buy-ware.

Joel answered that he uses "Camtasia" and directly incorporates voice in the video file while recording (the end result is 1024x768 - i.e. minimum resolution) WMV file...

I still have access to that forum, so I saw it... Thanks, Leo.

BTW, Camtasia is 4 or 5 times more expensive than Fraps, so that's definitely out.

I have to say that I was a very concerned in the first half. When Welker fumbled, I almost turned the game off.

The second half was a little better. Except for that moron who dropped the ball on the one foot line.

Anyway, in case you didn't know Denver 49 Baltimore 27.

I'm happy.

My son has a day off school today for a "teacher workday" so I didn't have to get up at 0515 to drive him to school before work. I slept until 0700 and it felt like a weekend.

A buddy I was enlisted with completed his degree and received his commission right before I got out of the Navy in 1997. He was just promoted to Commander and will soon have his own P-3 squadron. There is a party in Jacksonville next month, and it looks like it's turning into a big surprise reunion of 5-6 former instructors from the school where we taught.

I have it on direct authority that these P-3 aviators are completely nuts, so he'd better watch his company lest he slide into insanity too.

On a completely unrelated note, AW1Steve is busy moving more stuff from Omaha-Illinois, hence his absence.

They are not COMPLETELY nuts. Only MOSTLY nuts. There's a difference. Greetings from the road.

I'm getting nervous about my game against Fabertong... I haven't seen his carriers or submarines in a while; it's too quiet. His devious penguin mind is cooking something up...

He'll probably invade Australia.
