Sounds like flu or hopefully not pneumonia. Had pneumonia once, for two full weeks. Death seemed like a welcomed change.

My MIL had this done a few years ago by laparoscopic outpatient surgery. Four little incisions and she was out of there in a few hours. Most of these surgeries today are simple, compared to ye olde open abdomen surgery as it used to be. Excellent prospects for a full and rapid recovery.
