Lord you guys are having it rough! And I was feeling sorry for myself for having 7 degree temps and driveway covered with a couple inches of snow and an inch of ice! I hope that things go better for you'all.

You know , I'm foolish. I keep thinking that there ought to be somewhere where I can discuss strategy and tactics in a historical as well as current perspective. No one seems to be able to do this without getting personal. Is there any where in the internet that I can find a place where mature , intelligent adults can get together and discuss such matters , without pissing off each other as well as the authorities? Probably not.....I'm thinking it's time for what seems to be my long annual vacation from the forum. Later friends!

Morrocan chicken; with cumin, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, cayenne, olive oil and lemon juice. Oh yeah, and garlic. Marinate for a while and then put on the grill. And then skewer some onions, green peppers, yellow squash, and pineapple, and toss in a balsamic dressing; grill and do a dusting of cinnamon over the top, and viola. A spicy hunk of goodness. Grill it with the veggies and you will have a righteous dish. Great stuff for apres ski and chatting about the fire. Hootz gazootz !! J

Well, maybe the Falklands isn't the worst place the RAF can send me. I seem to recall that last time we (UK) went to the Crimea it wasn't exactly a glorious success. Who'd have thought a sociopathic ex-KGB agent would go around doing the same stuff he's been advising the west not to do?...

I'd be more worried about a second "go round" with Argentina , were I you. Or perhaps a "Zombie penguin" apocalypse!

I dunno, the Argies aren't really in a position to actually provide much of a military threat. Even if they did, I believe they're party to the Geneva Conventions. So instead of running around a cold island in the snow and wind I'm surrendering first chance I get. Then it's off to a warm PoW camp to play Monopoly, learn bird calls and annoy the guards just like the old films

Zombie penguins probably aren't as much fun. But I'll get a laugh from watching the little buggers do their penguin run

Well, some good news on my homefront, and some bragging rights too!

My son, John, and his Quiz Buster's team won their tournament today and have qualified for the State Tournament!

Any, my mother is doing well enough after her first treatment. Just very fatigued, but no vomiting or nausea.

Good news, Mike

Woke up this morning, opened the door to my kitchen, stood and looked very silly for a while. While I was asleep, my kitchen sink had literally exploded with black, brackish water. It was about 6 feet up the walls, into cupboards and drawers, on the floor...

Just a great way to start the week. Yaaaay!

Ow ...

Actually there isn't. The THREAD is supposed to be the one place WE DON'T do strategy....it's where we socialize. Kind of like facebook for forum users. The rest of the forum was supposed to be game and strategy related. Well it's still ok to talk game mechanics, and occasionally techniques , maybe some tactics , but we spend more time studying "gamey" than strategy. Sort of like how the western militaries of the world spend more time addressing "lawfare" than warfare, ROE's instead of orders of battle.

It's kind of like the difference between men and women in solving problems. Guys want to SOLVE the problem. Tear it apart, make it work the way it should . Girls want sympathy about a problem. Co-miseration and talking about how it makes them feel. (Except Graffin...she'll blow a problem up with the best of them!)

That's kind of the way these forums are degenerating. Less about figuring it out , and more about whining ,crying , screaming "gamey" and generally acting like a bunch of teenage girls. AND that's if they don't disintegrate into a screaming groups of twits yelling "I hate you! I hate you".

WTFO? That's the problem. And even the THREAD's not getting the attention it should,.....Why bother?

I'm sorry to hear that you feel that way and I fully respect any decision you take.

If you decide to take a forum leave, you should know that you're always welcome back in here

The GG War in the East forum is even worse. Have you peeked in there lately? It's so bad I only look in there once a month to see If there's any progress on a new patch.

Kind of crappy that matrix shut down conversation over the Ukraine because of one whiner. Most of the discussion was rational without name calling that you see on a lot of fourms. Very undemocratic....

It was 72 degrees here in Raleigh late Sunday afternoon. 36 hours later it was 14 degrees.

It's all good, though. I went shopping at lunch for some bags of salt and a bit of stabilizer to start getting my pool ready for the season.

Well, if you count noon as morning when you get up at 10 due to being in the emergency department with your mother all night and into the early morning because the chemo drugs caused a clot to be thrown into her lung, and that the doctors treated effectively and she is resting comfortably in the hospital waiting on her blood thinners that she will now be taking to take effect a good thing. This is a Good Morning to all (And, after reading the Hobbit again for the uncounted time) I am of the all of the Gandalf good mornings rolled into one today.

Just tired...

Also, barely know what is going on in the Ukraine. Such a different perspective on the world when you have something local to distract you. Usually, I am all up on this stuff. Need to do some surfing this afternoon.
