Glad I was able to help.

Where did you get the new artwork?? I like to get those clouds for my game. They seem to help show weather better than stock.

The day is marred by Allied subs, it seems if that first sub attack is effective they all are...

I think you're making the right decision to fight in the Andamans. The Allies can't use Rangoon for their big warships, their nearest repair yard is a fair distance away, and their bases aren't the best to support operations from.

On your side, Rangoon and Palembang are but a few days sail away. If it's possible, I'd start looking at trying to make Port Blair uncomfortable for him to use. If he can't base his auxiliary ships there, he's either going to Ceylon or Calcutta to rearm.

If you can beat away his CAP and get some IJN 2E torpedo bombers operating from Sabang, you can make the Andaman Sea a nice kill-zone for any Allied surface ship.

I have killed 11 of these blimps here in the Bay of Bengal/Andamans.

They really are quite nasty in a night naval search role...they spot everything.

So drastic measures call for extreme answers...I will respond with my own secret weapon at some point in the future!

M-M, I have to say, it is on my mind a lot. Air HQs at three bases...waiting to heal some air groups, and then I think a major push. I have to overcome 230 Fighters at Port Blair and do it all in one day. Almost all the tools are in place...

We shall see...

Fuel convoy docking at Truk...really only enough fuel for emergency resupply and the operations of midgets.

Fuel convoy delivering at Guam...substantial.

Turn is away, nothing really exciting...preparing.

This day saw the first losses on the J model...lousy Allied bombers. I need to kill more, and more fighters. Got to keep wearing them down.

No night attacks.

Monsoon effects over. They were pretty rough for Japan...

Quiet day other than for the continued heavy 4E bombing. Japanese Flak not all that effective today.

Allies continue to recon the HI. Hiroshima has a 9/10, too. What a pain.

Allied tank army continues down the road making for Thailand, Japanese reinforcements are racing there, but have to go thru a jungle hex. Getting to be nail biting time again...

The IJA trashed several Chinese Corps.

Supply absolutely ran out all across Thailand, Indochina, Burma, and Malaysia. Luckily, 35K has offloaded at Singers, with additional 45 arriving tomorrow and more on the way.

But I took a 800VP hit!

I just temp lost some base VP, but they will come in a day or two now that there is plentiful supply flowing again.

No big deal.

The difference in supply between the Allies and Japan is quiet amusing. As the allies around this time I always counted supply in the 100k. If a base was under 100k supply was "low" and I started sweating. In the millions was "good enough".

In 44 and 45 I was counting in millions. Then again the allies probably burn supply at a rate a Japanese player would appalling. I think in my game with Erik I was burning 3,5 to 4 million a months on Luzon alone. A lot was probably spoilage. But who cares.

That's the truth! I am playing mind-messing in Downfall and the supply that I ship as the Allies makes me roll my eyes.

I would really like Japan to be able to commander some of those cargo ships. Where are Japan's Letters of Marque?

The Ki100-I ranks up fairly well against the second string of the Allied fighters. I am looking at planning large sweeps of Port Blair...of course the best plane, by far will be to use George at 41K, but that means putting a SR3 plane on an island, something I would prefer to avoid.

Yep. It is not a must have as the Allies,at least for me others confess it is, but when I play the AI I always turn off combat animations and reports and simply run the turn and then use combat reporter to figure out what happened.

Intel monkey is good for Allies...

Navy gets a new airframe next month, but I won't be building her and instead sticking with the Betty.

Speed is nice and range is great, but SR4 doesn't fit in with how I use my air force. I have spent nothing on this plane, have 2 in the pools, and that is it. The 2nd generation is sr2, but sacrifices some range.

I have a theory that the escorting Oscar IVs might sweep ahead more often with the Betty than the faster Frances. Just a theory...

Frances might make a better kamikaze...

After this plane I have the following to look forward to: Myojo, Irving Sa, Nick D NF, Frank a & Tabby. It is going to be a long first half of 1944. But by April I hope to add the Peggy NF, Frances NF, Grace.

For Japan speed is most important. Range not so much. In 1944-45 11-13 hex is max You will be flying. Above that range You cant escort bombers and without escort bombers are useless. Also with beta patch everything in long range is suffering heavy coordination penalty
Also defensive guns are not important. Japanese medium bombers defensive guns are useless.

I will go with P1Y1 as main attack 2E bomber but real target should be P1Y2 with SR2.

Also if You are playing stock scenario dont build Ohka version of bombers. There is error in database and You cant build ohkas in those scenarios.

I guess SR4 doesn't really matter with Kamikazes.

No night bombing.

Allies bomb heavily again in Indochina, sweep Sabang in Sumatra where we trade 1-1, shooting down a dozen Corsairs and 8 of the latest Lightnings with a mixed force of Georges (high), Oscar IV (low) and Tojo IIcs (medium).

I have shot down 250 Corsairs, but they are the older model, Allies get the newer improved Corsair (CV capable) and at double or triple the production rate.

Allies try to send some LCTs, in individual task forces, to resupply his paratroopers where a small fast transport fleet of Japan's was offloading. The PBs scared off the LCTs, I hope, but I think the Allies will respond with a Fletcher sweep. Of course, my naval attack planes don't fly against these small LCTs, and even the bigger 6 ship force is within range at Car Nicobar.

I thought the Ohka bug was fixed in the Beta? Mind-Messing has used them against me in stock Downfall...

I realize the 2nd Gen Frances is a nice plane, but I don't want to spend the supplies, and I like the armored Betty. I will just have to do without some things...

Actually, I can see it being somewhat important, especially how I use my air force.

We will stick with Betty...when I complain down the road how bad she is you guys can remind you told me better!

Wow. No Frances!?!

Speed matters late.

I'll be curious if you even use the Betty past mid-44 other than for search and ASW.
