Hi, Just bought Campaign Series and can't load it. I have several Matrix games and I've never had a problem loading. I get to the point where I click on Johntillercampaign series and after a long delay I get 'Data error(clclic redundancy check)'.
I have Vista 32 bit op sys, NVIDIA GE 8300GS, 2 GB Ram. DirectX. 2.33 GH speed and plenty of disk space. I've perused the forums and am at a loss as to how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you install it under as the administrator?

Did you install it in the default location, or did you install it in a new folder? C:/Games/John Tiller's...

Have you updated the game to the 1.04 UPDATE?

You can do so much clicking the UPDATE button on the main menu.

Alternatively, you can download it here:

http://www.matrixgames.com/products/318/downloads/John%20Tiller's%20Campaign%20Series

Once downloaded, EXTRACT the file, then DOUBLE CLICK the EXE ... keep your password handy.

Hope that helps

Hi, I wrote to you earlier today and I'm sorry but I can't find your response. I'm somewhat of a new-bee(@65yrs old) I bought a CD for John Tiller's campaign Series and I can't get it to install. The disc has 2 programs on it. 1 is only 1k and the other is johntillerscampaignseries set-up but only 564mb. when I click on it there is a long pause and usually my computer crashes or I get the response 'data error (cyclic redundancy check)' I've tried to install it as an administrator but that doesn't work either.
I have Vista 32 2GB Ram NVIDIA GE Force 8300 GS. I saw some discussion on this forum that there may be errors on the CD. Anything to that? Any additional help would be appreciated.

Copy the 564mb file to your computer, maybe to your desktop. Then double click that icon on your desktop and see if the installer window pops up (it may take a bit and seem like nothing is happening).

Sorry, didn't receive any mail from you? Where did you send it?

junk2drive's idea of copying the file your local drive would be a good idea.

If you double click the exe file from there, it should install OK.

Let me know if that helps?

How can I install the John Tiller's Campaign Series? The scenario doesn't start, no map, background is black, no units, no anything.

Hello everyone!

Just re-installed CS with the 1.04 update on Vista. Encountered a bug, and didn't see a post for it yet in the forums. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Started a Barbarossa South DCG as Soviets using the new MCS orgs. I played through my first battle, but when I click to end the game after the last turn the game crashes.

I get the box to see my victory score and losses, and then I hear the audio from the Russian commander commenting on my performance. However I do not see his picture, the game is still showing the battlefield. I am unable to proceed after this point.

I hard-closed the game and tried to resume the DCG, but the battle has not advanced. I can still only resume in the last turn and then the same bug happens again when I try to finish.

Any thoughts?

Hi, I have some issue with Campaign series:

When I try to generate battle sometimes I get an error. For example, for Italy vs. America June 1944, Mediterranean, Division, all other settings are default, I get this:
West Front.exe: [ERROR ID 1000] (UnitAllocator.cpp, line 949, CUnitAllocator::BuildForce()) for nation Italy, level Division, unable to get starting org

But I was able to start with those settings for Battalion, Regiment and Corps. There are divisions for Italy 1944 as well in OOB editor.

Could you tell me what's wrong and how to fix it?

Windows 10, installed as admin into default folder, updated via launcher. All major exe files (West Front.exe, Rising Sun.exe, East Front.exe) are marked as admin-only launch.

Hello All,

I've replied to "KeathZerstorer" on his helpdesk ticket, but in case any others have such issues the developer has replied with the below:
"I suspect that there are not organizations for all countries for all years in that version of the game. Considering Italy surrendered in 1943,the generator not finding Italian divisions in 1944 makes sense."

So in this case there is not an army for Italy in 1944 so the game cannot find this pairing and hence this is failing.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be a solution, as I checked further - I described it in separate thread, as likely not me alone have this problem. I hope we'll get reply a from developers :-)

Hello KZ,

Sometimes it happens a proper matching organization is (edit:) available, but not found, and the mentioned error message appears. Retry or two might result in success.

Sometimes, though, the requested formations are not available at selected date at all, in those cases trying a different formation level might help. As suggested, Italian divisions in 1944 might very well not be available at all.

Hi, nice to meet you!

Thanks, somehow I managed to get battle generated for division level for Italy in 1944 - so they are available :-) though it takes sometimes multiple attempts (often three or more) and even generating battle or default battle conditions before the one I need.

Anyway, I think it can be considered as solved :-)

Thank you!

RE: JT:CS EF Tutorial. As I progress thru the tutorial I keep having a lot of screen freezes where nothing will change the screen ie can't even scroll off edge of screen to the N,S,W,E. Screen will not follow cursor. Can't see my units. Only fix is to exit all the way back to starting the game screen else problem comes right back. Is this unique to the tutorial?
