USS Indianapolis Men of Courage

So what was the verdict?

It was-by far-the worst movie I've seen in years. Drek in the beginning. Drivel in the middle. Crap at the end. It took me several sittings to get through it, some on fast forward. I rooted for the sharks.

That bad, eh?

If it was a question about feeding some majestic ocean creatures and continuation of the food cycle versus insipid hyper-extended overacting from Nicholas Cage, which would you choose?

Thank you for the verdict. Then I will not spend any time on it.

Glad I pointed you in the right direction. You owe me one. If I'm in Sweden, I expect to collect.

Splendid. Then that is a reason for you to travel to Sweden.

Ha. I know a few other actors who should have been on that movie too, then

BBC's Blue Planet II - what an extraordinary series this is going to be based on the opening episode.

The first episode of Blue Planet II has been the most watched TV programme of 2017 so far.

Not too bad, IIRC. An initially promising premise for a low-budget horror movie.

It wasn't quite as good second time around, but still a good film.

There seems to be a dearth of good drama series all of a sudden

Given my current reading matter it's perhaps no surprise that, having made a nice cup of tea, I will sit back and watch Conspiracy

Godless on Netflix. A mini-series western which I found quite good and worth the watch. The biggest named actors have to be Jeff Daniels and Michelle Dockery.

Blue Planet II (again).

The wonders of modern technology allows us to learn more and more about the sea and the creatures that live within it. The penultimate episode continues the brilliance of those before it!

In the Galapagos they have seen for the first time, Sea Lions acting in packs to trap Tuna in cul-de-sacs, with one of the Sea Lions acting as a barrier to their exit. The Tuna are too fast for Sea Lions in the open sea and so they herd them to the coast...

A fish that appears afraid of water and lives on cliffs above the sea

Land crabs in Brazil that jump from rock to rock to reach the feeding ground of seaweed covered rocks when the tide goes out. Why do they jump from rock to rock? Because Moray Eels and Octopus lurk beneath to feed on them..... except both actually come out of the water to attack too!

Just completed watching Godless myself. And it was indeed "quite good and worth the watch".,

Jeff Daniels and Michelle Dockery might very well have been the main stars. However, the one I enjoyed the most in the show was Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

I'm finally watching the classic 1973/74 World War II documentary "The World at War" for the first time. Very Allied-centric, which is hardly surprising given that it is a British production, and I suppose a lot of the research is outdated. But it is definitely well made. And Laurence Oliver does a great narration.

The overlords of our ancestors were insane. Thats the only way to describe them. Just charge into the gunfire with no armour protection, no cover, no maneuver & robotic obedience. Just throw away the lives of tens of thousands all the way up to the present day maybe? At least the knights of the middle ages wore some type of protection! Argh!

Netflix, "Manhunt : Unabomber." An in-depth look at how an FBI profiler helped track down the Unabomber. Watched the first episode and it looks promising.

Just watched Waterloo again. Damn, those battle scenes are still impressive for a 47 year old film. And best of all, no CGI, just an awful lot of extras.

Indeed. I like the soundtrack too. I've lost count of the number of times I've watched it since the first time I saw it in the cinema.
