Mar 24-25, 1945 On the 24th I keep one sweep on at Rangoon, which still gets a 3:1. Up North massive night strikes hit Sapporo, and the NF and flak do exceptionally well. The NF even get to some B-29s for a change! The Allies do land at Onnetekon-Jima and will take the base in a bit. No supply left out here which is too bad. The Allies also try an odd daytime unescorted strike at Sapporo, with no sweeps ahead to it. It gets slaughtered, but does get some airframes on the ground too. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Mar 24, 1945 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Morning Air attack on Rangoon , at 54,53 Weather in hex: Heavy cloud Raid detected at 36 NM, estimated altitude 44,000 feet.
