I know its a max of five air groups in a normal CV, but is there a limit to the number of sqds on an CVE, or is it five as well?

Good question, I don't know.

The most I have had on at one time is 3: fighter, bomber, recon. Most of the time I run only 1 squadron.

The question is, why put that many units on such a fragile ship?

If they can't carry torpedoes you don't need two kinds of bombers.

ASW duty, but realistically the TBM/TBF is better at this as well. Only really necessary to use SBDs in this role in 1942/1943.

I think the limit is five as well - useful if you are gathering fragments of units after a big carrier battle, or if you want small batches of planes for Search/ASW/Recon.

Didn't know this. Why?

Thanks!

Ouch!. Yes.

Thanks.

TBF/TBM also carry a radar set, IIRC.
