Status: offline 		General Terauchi has just submitted this outline plan to IGHQ, seeking approval to conduct offensive operations into Bengal.
The primary objective is Tezpur which is now a level 9 allied air base. Dacca airfield is a secondary objective.
Capture of Tezpur would make withdrawal of all allied forces in Bengal more difficult as it would cut the rail line.

IGHQ logistics planners are questioning whether enough supply will be able to move forward from Mytikyina to Jorhat/Dimapur, but some should also move from Katha to Imphal. They have recommended that additional supply be allocated to this offensive.

The only options for where that supply will come from are:
1. about 160k is at Singapore right now. It seems to be pooling there from nearby production, or perhaps even flowing back south from what is being dumped at Rangoon.
2. reallocate what was being sent to China via Fusan, to ship it to Rangoon or Chittagong.
3. allocate more to be sent on regular supply out / resources back convoys from Japan

77th Chindits retreat leaves the 111th cut off with only one hexside to move across.
A battle group from 54 Div will move to close the door and capture them.

1x Tank regt is close to arriving at Jorhat. Once it arrives a deliberate attack will be tried against 3rd Indian Bde.

If some more supply can flow to 51st Div it will try a deliberate attack against the Kowloon Bde in the north.

Dimapur ane Silchar could have high forts by now.
Allied movement arrows are shown withdrawing from Dimapur, probably not all of the defenders though.

I’d rather not have to attack Silchar, so the plan is to move 3x Infantry Divs there, then threaten the railways in the rear and hope that the defenders choose to withdraw before being cut off.

If any allied units move out into the clear terrain Helen will visit them, but I expect the same in return from better bombers...

Not sure if this could happen, given the distance and that Singers has a low supply requirement, at least in my AI game. Just to be sure though I run up the supply 'spinners' at Prome and Magwe when something is to be dropped at Rangoon.

If nothing else it tends to get the supply headed in the right direction. At any rate use caution trying to push too much supply through the Burmese rough, not sure heavy ops can be sustained through this route.

You have the coast, a push from there to Tezpur could turn the trick. Especially if you have any armor to push up the road and AB that you could drop on the base.

Flying a little supply to 144th Regt at Jorhat right now, but most transports in this area are still training.

We shall see how this goes, but enough supply has been moving forward to keep 5-6 Divs “bombed up”.
This operation involves about 3x that so I expect supply to restrict the number of big attacks to maybe 1-2 per month.

The air war here is tense. Allied bombers have flattened Mytikyina airbase before so can again whenever they want to really.
I hope I’ve made them pay too high a price to keep trying but they might just be resting up to go again.

Too late to change the GENs plan too much now. He’s gone and committed a lot of troops already in parallel with asking for approval.
If he can capture Calcutta IGHQ will promote him to Field Marshal, but he needs to secure Bengal first.

A large LRCAP umbrella is set over Jorhat on the assumption that allied bombers will visit tomorrow.

Status: offline 		In other news, CV Hiyo and the damaged CVEs make it back to Japan.
Hiyo will repair at Kure joining Kaga that is still there, while the CVEs will move to the Kobe repair yard to give those dockyard workers something to do.

Status: offline 		This is the plan for a strike on Port Moresby to try and sink the allied task force spotted there.

KB will move to within strike range of Port Moresby and to also cover the allied withdrawal route towards Townsville/Cairns.

BB Div 1 (Ise, Hyuga) is ordered into PM with surface combat orders.
BB Div 3 (Nagato, Mutsu) is ordered to bombard PM.

CL Div 6 (Sendai, Naka, Jintsu) is ordered to move forward from Rabaul to Milne Bay as backup.
1x CA Div and 2 more CL Divs are currently moving HQ 8th Area Army and 18th Army to Lae via fast transport orders.

A 4xDD ASW Div is also ordered into PM with surface combat orders.

Betty and Nell units at Rabaul are set to torpedo strikes with search out to 13 hexes to avoid the allied air base at Lunga (14 hexes), no secondary orders.

Fighter units are ordered to sweep Port Moresby from Lae and Buna.

The Dutch CL and a few other ships are spotted in port at Port Moresby.
They escaped destruction by the BBs last night by disbanding, so what other tricks do they have up their sleeve?

- KB strike groups have been ordered to fly at 20k' with secondary orders to attack Port Moresby airfield and port. Fingers are crossed that is the right height for Vals to level bomb and not dive bomb into the flak at Port Moresby.
- BB Div 1 will bombard Port Moresby to try and destroy some more aircraft on the ground and cause general mayhem
- BB Div 3 will move back to Rabaul to rearm main guns
- CA Div 3 (Tanaka with Myoko, Nachi Haguro and Ashigara) fell just short of Rabaul last turn but needs to stop there to rearm torpedoes
- CL Div 6 will move to provide a little more surface combat cover for KB
- the DDs are set back to ASW orders and will move to the KB hex

- Nell and Betty groups have also had secondary airfield and port strike orders set to Port Moresby

Status: offline 		This is the current situation on the Bengal front.
Lots of allied movement arrows spotted in reaction to all of the IJA movement arrows that have recently appeared.
Some of the IJA movements are feints as shown, but they seem to be having the desired effect of the allies moving troops out of the main target hexes of Comilla, Silchar and Dimapur. Unless of course the allies are faking it too!

Dive bombing 10-15K. Less than 9k, or 16k and above will do.

I’ve gotten into the habit of calling Hiroshima/Kure just Kure for short when it comes to IJN stuff, as the navy base was at Kure.
It has the size 100 yard plus HQs Combined and 1st Fleet still there.

Kobe is size 90 from memory so the CVEs should be ready again fairly quickly.
I just didn’t want the CVEs interfering in any way with getting the big CVs back in action.

I’ve gotten into the habit of calling Hiroshima/Kure just Kure for short when it comes to IJN stuff, as the navy base was at Kure.

Kobe is size 90 from memory so the CVEs should be ready again fairly quickly.

Status: offline 		Allied ships are still disbanded at Port Moresby under sparse CAP but heavy flak.
Follow up strike at 20k’ is fairly safe from the flak but gets about 0.1% hit rate.
They will drop to 16k’ tomorrow to see if that helps.

2x BB and 1x CA task force will start rotating through bombardments from Milne Bay and rearming at Rabaul.
The CA task force will provide more surface cover to the CVs tomorrow but if there are no allied threats spotted it might bombard the day after.

I probably shouldn’t get into too regular a pattern or the allies might counter somehow.

Correct. DB occurs between 10-15k, anything above and below is level bombing.
