Hello

J 34 Hunter need updates.

Out of service date is 1969.
It carry RB-24 Sidewinder loadout when Sweden build RB-24. Probably 1960.

The 1979 Boeing Airborne Aircraft Carrier Concept. (Its a 747 with 10-12 fighter aircraft!)

I can send you the study boeing made and a writeup highlighting relevant capabilities for the database.

Let me know if a flying aircraft carrier is possible to do in engine.

P.S. I know the description is small, I've tried to enter a post about this off and on for the last four years, this is the first time it worked.

There is a discrepancy between CWDB v478 and DB3000 v487 with the AN/APQ-104 radar on the F-8E(FN). The former has it as an 8 nm range-only radar while the later has it as a 60 nm full-service FCR.

I'm not sure which is correct, but I tend to believe the later, as it's used to guide the R.530 SARH.

Reviewing the SSN 585 Skipjack class US SSN. Have some suggestions to update the class:

Sensors

As far as I can find from internet sources, Harpoon Annexes, and Janes here's my best guess at original (1959) configuration:

Radar

BPS-11 or SS 2A (I can't pin it down, so would go with BPS-11)

ESM/ELINT

AN/BLR-6 (have found zero data here, but this would be a fair guess I think)

Sonar

AN/BQR-2B (Passive)
AN/BQS-4 Mod 1 (Active)

I can't find any reference to any modernization efforts until the mid-70's (1976 according to Harpoon Annexes) where the Skipjacks where modernized to their final electronic configuration along with the necessary updates to deploy Mk 48's (prior, they could only deploy Mk 37's). My assumption is other than weapon upgrades through the 60's and until 1976 the electronics largely remained original until this upgrade. Seems reasonable considering the Permit and Sturgeon classes where the dominating classes in the 60/70's, while the Skipjack was a small "bridge-development" class between the Nautilus and the first true modern SSN (Permit) produced in quantity:

BPS-12
WLR-1G (hard to find any data on ESM/ELINT, but seems a reasonable replacement for the 1950's vintage BLR-6)
AN/BQS-4 Mod 1 (Active) (retained from original configuration to provide active coverage)
AN/BQR-21 (Passive)(a massive electronic upgrade to the original BQR-2B system)
AN/BQR-25 (Passive-VDS added)
Generic Accoustic Intercept (have found no reference to any acoustic intercept gear anywhere, but seems reasonable some sort of accoustic intercept would have been added)

Weapons

Original loadout would likely have been:

Mk 37 Mod 0
Mk 37 Mod 1
Mk 14
Mk 16
Mk 27 Mod 4 (Maybe. Research indicates they were taken out of service @1960, but I can see them hanging around until the multi-target Mk 48's were introduced in the early 1970's). Add in Mk 45 Astors in the mid-60's as appropriate.

Remove all above and replace with Mk 48's exclusively in 1976 as part of the major electronics update received and the ability gained to deploy them as a result.

Check the signal ejectors. It's missing from some of the Skipjack entries.

I think you only really need probably 3 entries from 1959-1975 and then a final 4th entry for 1976.

The following entry:

#2329 - FF 1052 Knox (United States - 1973)

is supposed to represent the Knox-class frigates that did not receive the Mk-25 BPDMS, but the entry incorrectly comes with a fully loaded BPDMS anyway.

The follow-up entries #2330 and #2336, which are supposed to represent the same hulls for 1977 onwards, appropriately don't come equipped with the Mk-25 BPDMS.

The 2003 Lockheed Martin Cormorant MPUAV concept. A multipurpose UAV designed to be launched from an OHIO-class ballistic missile tube. There isn't much hard data. It had stealth features, was tailess, had two internal hardpoints, "1000lb modular payload," and was single engine. It had the landing characteristics of a seaplane but was a tailsitter at heart. It was also hoped to be launch able from the LCS. Hull was titanium with features to enable it to float for recovery by ship, submarine, or AUV.

Conjecture likely points to sensors on part with the F-22 or F-35 minus the radar and recessed hardpoint able to accommodate AIM-9s, SDBs, 500lb and below bombs, Hellfire maybe, etc. It was probably subsonic but visually looks like it could be supersonic. Capabilities in the RQ-170 would be a good starting point. Project cancelled in 2008, introduction timeline would probably have been mid-2010s if fully funded.

Feel free to message me if you want more data.

Hi,

There are some issues with DBID #415 SS-2 Sibling. It is currently lacking its ballistic missile DB characteristics, which results in it acting like a cruise missile, among other weird things (despite being a ballistic missile, some transonic fighters tried to intercept it when I was using it the other day).

Please make the following corrections-

Change the "Type" in the General Data section to Ballistic Missile

Add the following properties-

Ballistic Missile (ICBM/IRBM/SRBM)

Warhead - Single Re-Entry Vehicle (RV)

Level Cruise Flight

Thanks!

Could you please update F-86F Sabres in CW database?

-Mount was 1x12.7mm/50 M3 x 6 instead of 2x20mm Mk12 x 2.

-AN/APG-30 range was 3000 yards (not 20nm!). It is a ranging radar.

Thanks

The APG-30 range had been corrected previously but as of CWDB v478 it now has a range of 30nm.

Re Fixed

You may have corrected this along with the range issue but I just noticed while playing the APG-30 was switched to a surface search radar when the range was increased again. Should be a simple Air Search Ranging set.

Hi All

Could the West German G.91R/3 Gina be added. West German 1960-1982?

The Federal Republic of Germany placed an order in 1958 for the Fiat G.91R, whose first batch of 50 aircraft would be built in Italy. This first batch of aircraft built for Germany were of the G.91R / 3 versionwhich differed from the Italian version (G.91R / 1) fundamentally in terms of armament, two twin 30 mm DEFA cannons with 125 gun shots instead of the four M2 Browning machine guns, and a better set of avionics (later adapted in the G versions. 91R1A and G.91R1B) and four supports for external load under the wings instead of the two from the initial version. This initial order would be joined by new ones, making a total of 295 G.91R / 3 aircraft acquired by Luftwaffe, but with the exception of the first 50 units, all the rest would be built in Germany by a consortium led by Dornier. After World War II, the G.91 would be the first fighter plane built in German

But there is already West German G.91 R/3 in database. But it needs update because all variants of loadouts have same 145nm strike radius despite clear differences.

Playing through the Dawn Strike scenario with CWDB v478 (game build 1147.14).

The AN/APS-20A radar (AEW) on the #3155 - AD-3W Skyraider (United States - 1951) has a search arc limited to forward. What secondary documentation I've found said the AN/APS-20A was a rotating antenna (hence the "guppy" radome under the fuselage. Compare to the AN/APS-20A on #3823 - TBM-3W Avenger (United States - 1946) found in the same scenario.

I think the appropriate change is to give the AN/APS-20A 360-degree coverage on #3155 AD-3W, unless there's a source I've been unable to find that says it was limited on that model
