Crimea final

What am i doing here!! It was all very easy up to this spot.

Do the German look at this as a mere flea bite?

Ah it's the sticking my neck out strategy?

South final showing D values and supply.

The Germans only have to move thru 2 zoc's so they are easily able in blizzard to still cause cut offs as it all jammed in.

That is one reason I should have retreated. B/c i am so close he is able to capture units.

It should be bad next turn.

What am i doing. Get out.

To start with I get these 2 stupid surrenders from front line supplied units.

I'm not sure where to begin the comment.

Then i look south and see

a high number of Red Guard units trapped.

thus the pain renews.

I proceed to throw more good after bad and start the rescue process.

middle final.

On hindsight i see now that the Germans maintained a very strong defensive stack at the tip of the rr supply.

Middle view before action. Could the partisan which is on top of a German rr hex, please look around and loosen a few rails.

Thanks

I know its just a PC rookie, but it would be good training.

I finally withdraw.

It ends up being an insufficient distance.

Snow and March next.

look closely:

does it seem far enough away considering his tanks have been in action throughout February?

I pull back from his tank hoard and leave screening force and have D line further back at the river.

Final North Moscow.

Again in hindsight I see The Germans are holding a very strong force near Kalinin trying to keep open the RR into that area. These 3 or 4 hexes cannot be budged.

Otherwise I thought I was in OK shape around here.

South Moscow

I pull back as precaution.

At this point I thought I had good idea where all his tanks were.

Maybe missing one tank corp.

Yet, I was at the tip of a very slippery slope.

So it seems I have no photos' of turn 38 and 39 of the Stalino area. Why would that be?

Well maybe it was an ordinary slow retreat with no heavy German pursuit. Just infantry keeping close. That leads me to now realize that Tyronec decided to use his tanks in February and then gave them full rest and refit on turn 38 and 39 , on rr supplied hexes. This gave him 2 turns to cause havoc and then we hit spring mud.

My thoughts then must have been . Ok only a few more turns to mud. Maybe he is resting his tanks for the next summer. I mean he used them heavy in February.

Thus 38 and turn 39 did not indicate the doom. I was falling back and after 39 was only 2 turns from mud and a much needed break in the fighting.

And then came turn 40 and turn 41.

Then this very bad timing:

Why after a nice winter of advancing would Stalin go bonkers and dismiss Zhukov.

And what madness arranged for him to put Kulik in charge.

Maybe he wants to lose the war.

Oh and my 1st Guards Army which is just south of Moscow north of Tula

North final

Seems like a redeploy of Fin positions for new offensive?

I am alert for a German pincer from the south attempting to reach the fins.
