Nikademus -> Fort Worden Trip (3/27/2006 7:29:50 AM)

GF Mark I unit insisted on a road trip and wished to go explore "Olde Concrete" again since its a good way to spend a partially sunny afternoon with Boyfriend unit + dogage. (it also drags me away from the computer)

Now in posession of a digital camera, a return trip to Fort Worden seemed a good idea. If you've ever wondered what that little static LCU on the West coast looks like....here's your chance:

Picture 1. Looking NE from the main parade grounds just after you enter the fort. The houses in the distance were i believe officer's homes for self and family members (you can now rent one out for a weekend excursion though not all have been restored)

"Andrew's Castle"

The oldest structure still standing on the grounds (IIRC, from before the place was militarized)

Recently used to house familiar map maker for WitP. He was not let out till he finished.

Battery Haldman Putnam (3in)

We're having a slight problem sighting our target Ferry__i mean, "enemy battleship" Someone forgot to mow the lawn. A certain beefy beta is attempting to confirm the visual range to the target.

Port Wilson light house a the NE tip of the Fort grounds.

I'd better check if we're at war with HANJIN before opening fire.

Just off the right side of the photo was the fire control/observation platform where fall of shot could be observed.
