Great stuff well done.  I will have to purchase the game now.  Hey this is a great marketing strategy :)

TSCofield -> RE: Filler Names (6/24/2007 4:16:41 AM)

This is a good idea.

Not the first time it has been done.  I am the commander of the USS Illinois (Prarie State) in WPO.

Put me down as an American.  Preferably bomber pilot with the 457th BG (H) if possible.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (6/24/2007 8:13:23 AM)

2nd Lt. Thomas S. Confield, 457th BG (B-17G, 125 day delay)

gatow1 -> RE: Filler Names (7/6/2007 11:29:21 AM)

Richard Parkhouse, sgt RAF, 111 Sqn

Thanks! [:D]

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (7/6/2007 4:04:19 PM)

Sgt Richard Parkhouse, 111 Squadron

sorry for the delay, I got sidetracked, been looking for Tyson, for a while now, and while looking for a Czech name, (old OOB had V Kopecky, being in 111, but I find it was Miroslav, (and in BoB not in BTR) and not Vaclav, which means I got to hunt for Vaclav now, to see where he should be) ran across Tyson !, then decided to check up on some of the 111 guys, and found the SL for 121 Eagle Squadron, plus was able to fill in some gaps for 111 in BoB

soooooo

got you in, just takes a while at times :)

von Shagmeister -> RE: Filler Names (7/6/2007 6:14:43 PM)

F/L Miroslav Kopecky (Sgt during BoB)

310 (Czech) Sqn 12Jul40-16Aug40, 6 OTU 17Aug40-09Sep40, 111 Sqn 10Sep40-25Sep40, 253 Sqn 26Sep40-07Mar41, Instr duties ?/41-?/45

Nothing on a Vaclav Kopecky but have the following on a Vladimir Julius Kopecek - 312 (Czech) Sqn (19Aug42 as a Sgt)

S/L Frank Tyson British C/O 312 (Czech) Sqn 05Sep40-01Apr41

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (7/6/2007 10:12:10 PM)

Hi Shaggy, good to see you back, hope you enjoyed yourself

S/Ldr KOPECKY Vaclav, DFC (†)
F/Sgt KOPECKY Zdenek (†)
F/O KOPECEK Vladimir (†)

he is with 312, but find no info on him, so do not know when or where, and while he is a SL, he was not in charge of the squadron, so rank maybe his ending rank

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (7/7/2007 1:27:41 PM)

still think, you got to love it

been looking for D.R. Scott, SL of 306 Polish, all my English lists show up nothing, I end up finding Douglas R. Scott, under a listing of Polish pilots !

went to the new website with the Opp Docs for the Polish Squadrons, able to find many names, but then the job is to cross index them to my Polish lists to get the right ones

Kewl, learn a new trick, keep playing it, found Tomlinson also

you got any info on Tuttle, would of been a FL (B Flight leader) for 307

hmmm, odd, I find the English A flight leaders, but not the B flights ?

any idea on FO Young for 306 ?

ORBs are a great source of primary data. They do contain errors [made by the clerks at the time of writing] but the info contained is invaluable. The authors of the site in question are doing a great service by transcribing the ORBs onto the web and I look forward to them adding more pages to those already done.

W/C Douglas R. Scott - C/O 306 (Polish) Sqn 28Aug40-26Nov40, Wg Ldr? Kirton-in-Lindsey Wg ?-08Nov41, KIA 08Nov41

S/L G.C. Tomlinson C/O 17 Sqn Nov39-May40, C/O 307 (Polish) Sqn Sep40-Mar41

Nothing on a Tuttle with 307 (Polish) Sqn

Nothing on a F/O Young with 306 (Polish) Sqn

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (7/7/2007 4:24:13 PM)

Roger that

that would be George C Tomlinson

those are not from my sources, so do not know if they are good or old mistakes (my bad, Young is from the new data, Tuttle is from the game)

I do find a R.H. Young and a R.M. Young, both with 264 Squadron (if he was going to 307, I think one of those may be the guy, as a number of Defiant guys came over to help out, but it is for 306)

Enough to drive you nuts, found it in my list of Polish pilots, on the bottom of a page, when you scoll, the page tends to jump to the next one, ahhhh

John R. Young, 1 kill, 1 damaged (bad part is the Kill was friendly !)

von Shagmeister -> RE: Filler Names (7/7/2007 6:44:28 PM)

I've got no bio data on any Youngs relevant to the BoB period on my database. Other than what appears on the usual lists I can't add anything. BoB is not a period I've concentrated on researching.

zilkoski -> RE: Filler Names (7/11/2007 9:10:12 PM)

Sarge,

Still looking for Free French filler pilots? I'm volunteering for a fighter unit; any would do, but 341 Squadron "Alsace" would be nice if possible... [:)]

My name is Vincent Lefavrais.

Also, are you still looking for historical French pilot names? I might be able to fill some holes if needed. Please let me know.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (7/11/2007 9:47:14 PM)

PO. Vincent Lefavris 341 Fr (Alsace) (Spit LF.IXC)

medaloffairness -> RE: Filler Names (8/14/2007 12:52:55 PM)

Hi HAS,

unfortunatly I have found this awesome forum a little bit late for this thread.

But I beg you on my knees to integrate a name of a friend of mine and my one to the I/JG 53 [&o][&o][sm=innocent0001.gif][sm=innocent0001.gif]

Names:

My one: Christian Walter
My friend: Maximilian Biwald

Rank: Doesn`t matter
Experience: Not an Ace but good enough to have the capabilities to survive some months, please.

If you need any further assistance for data mining on the german side then I can probably help you. Have a lot of books and the diary of the OKW.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (8/14/2007 3:15:57 PM)

FW. Christian Walter and FW Maximilian Biwald I/JG53

AndyG1 -> RE: Filler Names (8/29/2007 5:30:55 PM)

Hi Hard Sarge - Hope the book is still open for new names, so here goes.

Andy Graydon.  British, BoB or BTR, doesn't really matter.  However, RAF no.609 Squadron would be good (me being a Yorkshireman and their emblem being a white rose - the symbol for Yorkshire) during BoB.

PS Keep up the good work - can't wait for the updated game, it's all looking really good[;)]

PPS - useful website from official British sources, including squadrons and pilot names:-

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (8/29/2007 5:46:23 PM)

how about
FO. Andy Graydon, 131 Squadron (Spit HF.VII) James O'Meara needed some company

AndyG1 -> RE: Filler Names (8/29/2007 5:47:20 PM)

OK - that would be great.  Cheers.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (8/29/2007 5:52:33 PM)
