nelmsm1 -> RE: Filler Names (1/21/2008 6:50:37 AM)

A dear friend of our family passed away a few years ago. His name was Darold Lodge and what little we know is that he flew as a navigator in 4 engine bombers in Europe. He wouldn't talk much about his wartime experience but he did mention one day that he was training on B-29's when the war ended. My Dad also thought he had won the DFC but we are unsure on that. I would love to see his name added to the game.

kirk1227 -> RE: Filler Names (1/22/2008 7:26:31 PM)

If there is still room, please add my name Kirk Hutzel (U.S.) if possible or any air force is fine.

orey22 -> RE: Filler Names (1/23/2008 2:38:08 AM)

Hi,
Ethan Van Loenen, German Pilot during BOB, thanks!

kirk1227 -> RE: Filler Names (1/26/2008 2:21:53 PM)

If your still taking names, please add me, kirk hutzel. Just put me whereever you might be short. My prefernece would probobly be U.S. and then German. Thanks

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (1/27/2008 1:25:00 PM)

chuckj118 -> RE: Filler Names (1/29/2008 8:08:15 AM)

Charlie W. Jordan USAAF - fighter pilot

Joseph L. Jordan - In memory of My Dad...served 27 years in the USAF...and my brother (Same Name) served 29 years and flew planes I can't mention during the 70's and 80's.  I suppose they would prefer a USAAF fighter unit.

John B. Jordan - My other brother who served 22 years USAF.  Took part in Iraq 1991 and Iraq 2003-4.  Now   retired.  USAAF fighter unit.

G. Russell Harley - Good friend and fellow gamer...USAAF fighter as well.

Paul Stokes - My uncle who fought at Pelieu and Okinawa earning Bronze Star (I think) and two purple hearts. Deceased.  Marine unit if available or USAAF fighter.

Henry Stokes - My uncle who served in ground crew European theater USAAF.  I don't know what units. Deceased.  USAAF Fighter as well.

Brian Twomey - Friend I met in Germany many years ago.  He works for BMW.  I think he would like a German FW-190 Unit if possible.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (1/29/2008 5:27:33 PM)

2nd. Lt Charlie W. Jordan, 33rd FG P-40F (12th AF)
Capt. Paul Stokes

Capt. Joseph L. Jordan, 33rd FG P-40F (12th AF)
Capt. Henry Stokes
2nd Lt Russell Harley

Capt. John B. Jordan, 350th FG P-39Q (12th AF)

FW. Brian Twomey, ISS FW Sorau FW 190A-6 (Reich)

(the 81st FG is going to be pulled in the 44 Campaign (it was sent to Burma), so got to thinking, it is not fair to add people to it, as they won't then be in the game if the person wants to play the 44 Campaign, so have moved them to the 33rd FG instead)

Micah Goodman -> RE: Filler Names (1/31/2008 4:15:03 PM)

Thanks Sarge. I made a mistake. Warren Jones is the uncle of close personal friend. I assumed sense his last name was Jones that his uncle's last name was Jones as well. I told him about this site and what I requested and he and his father were very touched. My friend sheepishly informed me that his uncle's last name was Jordan not Jones. If it isn't too much trouble could you please change the entry for Capt. Warren Jones 2nd BG to Capt. Warren Jordan 2nd BG I would be thankfull. Sorry, if this caused a problem.

joey -> RE: Filler Names (2/1/2008 3:29:45 AM)

Could you add Charles Samar? Uncle Charles was in the 15th Air Force USAAF. He spent a bit of time in Italy during the war. Thanks

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (2/1/2008 7:28:26 PM)

Micah, got it no hassle

Warren Jordan, it is

Joey, do you know which unit he was in ? or should I add him to any BG in the 15th ????

joey -> RE: Filler Names (2/2/2008 3:35:20 AM)

I do not know the BG. I know he was a waist / tail gunner first on a B17 then on a B24. He started with the 12th USAAF then moved to the 15th in Italy. He was never very fond of ME109s or of FW190s.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (2/5/2008 5:21:29 PM)

HI Joey

okay added him to 2nd BG, flying B-17Fs, with the 12th AF

Scouseair68 -> RE: Filler Names (3/25/2008 9:45:22 AM)

What a great idea.  If you are still accepting names I would like to put forward myself, Ian Ratcliffe (wargaming since 1979).  My father, Len Ratcliffe (who lost the fight in 1998.  First saw action on D+1, 7th June 1944 and ended the war in Hamlin 1945).  And my brother-in-law, Kevin Pooley, who has been playing BTR for years, and whose tales of long nights with the game fueled my interest in BTR and ultimately led me to this site.  It would be great if his name could appear in the updated version of the game he loves.

All three preferably the RAF, bombers are fine, but wherever there are gaps that need filling.

Thanks

Ian

bushman777 -> RE: Filler Names (3/25/2008 12:32:43 PM)

Love the idea you have going. Is there any chance you can add my grandfather who was a gunner in B-26 Marauders from early 44 to the end of the war, his name is Arlo Carr and is still alive and kicking.

Thanks

Paul

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (3/25/2008 2:33:43 PM)

Bushman, you got any idea on which B-26 Unit he was with ?, if I can, I would like to add him to the Unit he flew with ?

Trueknight -> RE: Filler Names (3/25/2008 4:38:35 PM)

Hi everyone, I'm following your project for a long time now; everytime I pass on Matrix forums I make a visit here, eager fo any news about the game. I finally decided to ask if it's possible to add my name to the game.

Claudio Anelli

I'd prefer to be in an Italian units fighting alongside the Allies, if they will be included in the game, otherwise any Italian unit will do well.

And...another silly request...being myself a great sci-fi fan, and loving the "new" Battlestar Galactica...if you can find a couple of yankee fighter pilots to be called "Lee Adama" and "K***(i guess there weren't much Kara in the USAAF at the time) Thrace", well...i'll be gratefull to you for the rest of my life [:)]

I understand it could be a "little" strange, no problem if you think it's not appropiate.

Thanks for your attention

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (3/25/2008 4:54:33 PM)

Okay lets see

Fl. Len Ratcliffe
Po. Ian Ratcliffe
Po. Kevin Pooley

with 88 Squadron, flying Mitchell IIs, 2nd Group (88 flies Boston IIIs)

1st Lt Arlo Carr, with 386th BG flying B-26b, IXth BC (unless you can find the unit he was with)

Po. Claudio Anelli with 102 Squadriglia, flying Mc 205s BAF (got a delay of 312 turns, got to wait on the BAF to come in (tell you the truth, I got to check, as I am not sure which rank settings the It Allied use, I don't have any, I had to really dig to find info on the units and plane types, nothing on pilots)

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (3/25/2008 4:57:35 PM)

yea that is what I thought, the It Allied are seen as CW, so they will use English ranks, so Po. it is

bushman777 -> RE: Filler Names (3/26/2008 12:20:45 AM)

Hi Hard Sarge

I do not remember what unit he was with, but I know he flew on D-Day prepping for the invasion of Normandy. Since I live on the other side of the world I don't get to see him much anymore, but I will be seeing him in about 6 weeks and if it is still possible to fix him up I will get the information from him.

Thanks

Paul

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (3/26/2008 6:51:46 PM)

hmmm I posted and lost the post ?

I made a mistake in my posting, 88 Squadron is flying Boston IIIs, not Mitchells

Unit is correct, my posting was wrong

Trueknight -> RE: Filler Names (3/28/2008 5:28:00 PM)

A friend of mine, great fan of the game, would be inserted in the RAF for BTR. A Spitfire unit, if possible.

Name is
Pat Biancardi

Thanks

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (3/28/2008 6:09:49 PM)

what, he doesn't want to be in the unit that wasn't there ? :)

get to it in a bit

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (3/29/2008 9:12:43 PM)

Po. Pat Biancardi, 152 Squadron MED (Spit VC)

Gunnerchimp -> RE: Filler Names (4/4/2008 5:38:43 PM)

HS

Got room for any more RAF bomber pilots? I grew up next to what was RAF Skellingthorpe, and as a lad had a great time exploring the old buildings, bunkers and firing range etc. We dug up incendary bomb fins, gas masks and literally hundreds of unspent .303 rounds etc [sm=00000106.gif].   Shame to say the airfield's pretty much all gone now, lost to the urban sprawl of the ever growing City of Lincoln.

So if you've got any vacancies with either No. 50 or 61 squadron, I'd be grateful if you could add my name to the ranks - Anthony Gent.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (4/6/2008 1:04:13 PM)

BC I am pretty weak on, I may have more info on the RCAF side of it then the rest (I got a book coming that I hope will help here, but it is not even released yet)

50 Squadron I can add in you into

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (4/6/2008 1:43:57 PM)

Po. Anthony Gent, 50 Squadron, flying Lanc 1's

Gunnerchimp -> RE: Filler Names (4/6/2008 10:15:56 PM)

Thanks Sarge, just the job.

If you need any help with BC airfield names, locations etc just let me know.

Javakamp -> RE: Filler Names (4/16/2008 10:48:07 PM)

If it's not to late could I get Philip Weitkamp added. Any US group is fine.

Hard Sarge -> RE: Filler Names (4/17/2008 4:10:05 PM)

2nd Lt. Philip Weitkamp, 79th FG, P-40F, 12th Airforce
