Denniss -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/23/2006 1:30:02 AM)

Wasn't it the early Mk.14 torpedo with the high dud rate, AFAIK a problem with the magnetic detonator ?

Lopo -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/24/2006 1:12:57 AM)

Have a look on this web page (http://www.combinedfleet.com/torps.htm) and you will have all informations required...

DEB -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/25/2006 1:59:31 AM)

Lopo

Thanks for the link & info.

I am begininng to think I should surrender now & save the lives of all my sailors !! [:(] Or maybe I should always play the IJN in the future! [:D]

Lopo -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/26/2006 12:16:39 PM)

DEB,

Perhaps or perhaps not... You can also hold out until early '43.
About torpedos, USN will receive betters in the mid of '43...

Skyfire7631 -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/27/2006 8:42:16 PM)

So, about that patch ... ? [;)]

Regards.

DEB -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/28/2006 1:05:21 AM)

Lopo,

I was just being facetious !

Re better torpedoes - good, but per Sc. info. still not as good as the Longlance.

(Per in game info. best are:

British/Commonwealth = range: 11k yds, damage: 810, *2;
American = range: 10k yds, damage: 825;
Japanese = range: 10k yds, damage: 893;
Japanese = range: 22k yds, damage: 1,080.

So out of the 12 types listed the best 2 are Japanese, the Allies come in at
3rd, 4th & 5th. Guess who's 6th? Correct, the Japanese.)

Never mind, if Nimitz can do it, so can I !!!

DEB -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/28/2006 1:19:43 AM)

Well it is almost 4 weeks now since Mr Wood posted ( 27 days ).
This is longer than usual ( for UV anyway ). But then UV is very low priority I guess. Maybe it will be a Christmas pressie!! ( This year ?? )

I notice no moderator for this forum ( yet some have 2 ); having said that CotD has 2 moderators but I cannot remember the last time one of them posted on that forum !!
Question: does anyone even monitor the UV forum ?

tocaff -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/28/2006 2:00:58 AM)

I hope there's no mods around so we can look under the torpedo blisters added to the Big "E" in Bremerton while she underwent some repairs and modifications.

Mike Wood -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/29/2006 9:30:13 AM)

Hello...

Don't know who, if any one monitors this forum. I do come by about every 27 days or so. Will email production and ask them to hurry with release.

Bye...

Michael Wood

tocaff -> RE: Patch 2.50 (11/29/2006 6:00:39 PM)

OK so now we know that the cat's away for the next 3 1/2 weeks!  Maybe by the time MW returns he'll be able to tell us more than production was told and they're on it.

RedMike -> RE: Patch 2.50 (12/2/2006 3:18:00 AM)

A patch would be nice since IMO it is better game than WitP/WPO. PLays faster, smaller scale, I like it. I have all three games but now only play UV. Just my preference you understand.

morphin -> RE: Patch 2.50 (12/6/2006 11:11:41 PM)

Hi

I also waiting for the patch. common guys, it is only a few days untill christmas...

USSAmerica -> RE: Patch 2.50 (12/20/2006 7:41:50 AM)

Mike, please bug production to try to get this patch out before they all leave on vacation for the holidays. I think we have all been very patient while waiting for it, but I really wouldn't want to see a riot storming the doors of the production office. [;)] I've been hoping to start a long scenario with the 2.50 patch over my own Christmas vacation. 5 days of that vacation time are already gone...hint, hint! [:D]

tocaff -> RE: Patch 2.50 (12/20/2006 2:23:21 PM)

Maybe if we're lucky the patch will be posted in the first quarter of 2007?  Will it fix bugs without causing new ones remains to be seen.

Skyfire7631 -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/12/2007 6:20:28 PM)

2 months and a half since the "announcement" of a new patch and ... nothing ...

Seriously, I'm a fairly patient guy, but this is getting annoying ... [:(]

Regards.

DEB -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 12:45:16 AM)

You know, I am not suprised at the delay.

They ( Matrix ), did put out a lot of stuff ( see Home page news ), just before Christmas and we were not included (low priority I guess ).
The trouble is we are likely to be dropping down any ( priority ) list rather than climbing it!

What we need is someone to vent our feelings towards, then we at least might get some response/action.[sm=00000028.gif]

I'll go back to sleep now! [>:][>:][>:]

Mike Wood -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 1:47:14 AM)

Hello...

Production told me they put the patch up. You might not be able to find it. I will inquire.

Sorry...

Michael Wood

Erik Rutins -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 5:08:03 AM)

It was in the queue to go up, looks like it hasn't been posted yet though. I'm not sure why, but I'll post it up personally tonight in the Members' Club. I'll post back here once it's online.

Regards,

- Erik

Mark Ezra -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 6:11:47 AM)

Thanks for burning the midnight oil

Erik Rutins -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 6:28:02 AM)

I'm starting the process of getting it posted now, will probably take about an hour. Here are the key patch notes since 2.42:

Bugs Fixed:

1)Aircraft were still disappearing for no apparent reason. Found second bug. Fixed.

New Features:

1)The assault value of each land unit is now displayed on the unit orders screen.
2)The number of defensive mines at a base now appears on the base orders screen.

Erik Rutins -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 6:38:58 AM)

Well, that went faster than expected.

The v2.50 beta update is now available as a Registered Download in the Members' Club. Please let us know if you have any problems and how you like it. Apologies for the delay in getting this online.

Regards,

- Erik

Hey Erik,

What's the big idea with the serial number now. I have an original CD I bought from Matrix way back when the game was first issued and it ain't got no stinking serial number!! The CD or the CD box.

Yours truly,
RedMike

YankeeAirRat -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 8:39:14 AM)

Ditto I purchased mine at a EB Games way back in the day. I didn't have any serial number attached to mine. I just got the players guide and the CD.

Reg -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 8:46:43 AM)

It's up and avaialable. Thanks for that!!

At 51.4MB it's some update. I assume this is a comprehensive patch that will bring any version up to V2.50???

Unfortunately it's asking me to register the game before allowing download of the patch. I got UV 1.0 years ago without a serial number so what should I be entering into the serial number field?? (Leaving it blank doesn't work)

The Patches and Updates area only has V2.41.

==================================================

Got it!!

Try in the Members Downloads area rather than in the Registered Downloads area!!

Thanks!!!

Reg -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 8:49:28 AM)

Three responses to the patch within 2 hours (plus any others with serial numbers).

Who said this game is dead!!!

Skyfire7631 -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 11:19:26 AM)

Ah, thanks for the quick answers, Mike and Erik : I was starting to loose faith in Matrix, you just restored it [;)]

Downloading as I speak (errr... write) [:)]

Regards.

marioa -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 11:54:58 AM)

I have downloaded the member area version of the patch 2.50,unfortunately it's asking me a serial number.-I got UV 1.0 years ago without a serial number.-
Please any help.
Thanks in advance.
marioa.

Skyfire7631 -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 12:26:20 PM)

Gah, same problem here, I don't have any serial number on the CD or box [:(]

I'll try to find the invoice I received at the time, but that was long ago, ordered in France, and I'm pretty sure there was no serial number on it [:(]

Regards.

Reg -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 1:09:23 PM)

I just checked where WITP keeps it's serial number and my UV installation definately doesn't have a serial number entry.  If the installer requires one, we have a minor problem. [:(]

morphin -> RE: Patch 2.50 (1/13/2007 1:15:10 PM)

Hi
I have the original CD. But this CD doesn't require a serial number. So please matrix give us a patch without a serial number..

Morphin
