I'll be at the Penguins vs Flyers game today. Watch it on NBC at 12:30pm. Should be a very good, hard checking game. Hopefully Sid Crosby breaks out of his slump. He needs 2 more points for 100 this season, with 18 games left, should put him on pace for around 125. Anyway, in keeping with the general direction of this thread... Who are/were some great athletes from the Balkans? I can't remember any hockey players. I can only think of a few very good basketball players. ok, tc... some good players? Kresimir Cosic, Drazen Petrovic, Pedja Stojakovic, Toni Kukoc, Vlade Divac, Dino Radja, Dejan Bodiroga...i will stop here because i don't have so much spare time for that. Anyways, the truth is we Balkans aren't soo good as we use to be... but neither the US stars are brilliant at the moment... Actually i'm big fan of the Latin basketball now[:D] But i don't see any point about naming a big athlets from the Balkans...why that would be relevant[&:] I'm sure that any country has "the big peoples" like Tesla (Croatian Serb or Serbian Croat if you like), Slavoljub Penkala, Faust Vrancic (ok, i admit he was a really strange guy - he invented parachute before the man learn how to fly[:D]), cravat was invented in my homeland etc etc.... but so what? No real sympathy, since the unfortunates in the cities above certainly didn't have any sympathy for their victims in places like Coventry, Warsaw and Nanking, nor anywhere else. Certainly took the fight out of the Germans and Japanese for over 60 years.
