Well...

For the moment we are on the defensive...

But our scientists are almost finishing a new weapon which will smite you and your allies...

Lava,

Out of curiosity, why the need to kill France early? Why not hold in France and deal on Russia?

I'm always intrigued by the desire to go after the strongest (initially) TE nation as opposed to going after the TE achilles heel....

Hmm..maybe I'm becoming interested in another PBEM...

EUBanana -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/11/2007 1:16:36 AM)

British forces advance into No Mans Land, Scots regiments playing bagpipes, other units kicking footballs as they go.  The month long barrage surely trashed the enemy after all, and the enemy have no trenches, so it was gonna be easy, right?

Wrong.

The BEF attack across a fairly broad front but make no breakthroughs anywhere.  A bit surprised, they pause and lick their wounds, and take comfort from the fact that the Germans suffered as much as they.

Douglas Haig is convinced that the enemy is close to breaking, and orders that the assaults go on despite the lack of initial progress.

Looks like the Kaiser has abandoned the ground in front of the BEF.

British troops advance with no opposition.  Presumably the Kaiser has something special planned for them soon...

Mystifying.  Nobody about on the Western Front, all the Boche have legged it, aside from a pocket up by Luxembourg who look like they are planning on staying put.

British forces with some French support libertate Dijon, Lyons will be back in Entente hands soon.

But one wonders what the Kaiser is up to...

Looking for easier prey eh.

*Lava* -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/12/2007 5:06:35 AM)

Well...

Hemmed in by the Brits and French to the West, Italy to the South and Russia bearing down on me from the East, figured it was time to start another war!!!

[:D]

The Kaiser declares war on Romania.

EUBanana -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/12/2007 3:13:19 PM)

The Kaiser is clearly playing for pride now, he wants to see another Entente surrender - even if it is only poxy little Romania.  [:D]

*Lava* -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/12/2007 3:49:52 PM)

Hpp..

German fighters bag their first TE aircraft.

Biggles goes down in flames.

EUBanana -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/12/2007 4:26:56 PM)

You killed Biggles!  You *****!

Germans, Bulgarians and Ottomans mass on the Romanian borders, which see heavy fighting.  Amazingly the Romanians do not immediately fold, but surely they will fold very soon.

Russian forces advance into eastern Romania meanwhile.

In other news, the Canadian Corps and ANZAC Corps have now been deployed, as I finally scrape up enough transports to move them around.

This gets my vote for the most original AAR of all time[8D][&o]

A poll anyone?

*Lava* -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/12/2007 10:08:12 PM)

Actually...

This is what happens to pollsters in Imperial Germany...

EUBanana -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/12/2007 11:19:41 PM)

Brunn falls to the Entente again and an Austrian cavalry screen adjacent to it is swept away.  Vienna not too far away!

Romania meanwhile collapses rapidly, if it lasts the strategic turn I'll be impressed.

The French hit the Germans on the Western Front with the biggest barrage of the war this turn, hopefully that hurt the Boche good.  :D  Biggles's apprentice was up overhead as well.

*Lava* -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/13/2007 1:23:16 AM)

All hell's broken loose...

Battles rage in in almost every theatre.

The Romanians are locked in a death struggle in Bucharest while CP artillery pours on a rain of steel.

This the spring of 1916...

Are yuo sure it was Biggles?  It looked more like ginger to me.....yes an excellent read....even without screenies!![&o][8|]

*Lava* -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/13/2007 4:41:11 AM)

The war is reaching a climax...

Bucharest falls, but the Romanians fight on.

A German offensive begins to push the Russians back away from Berlin, just as the French smash into Verdun.

The war has taken 9 million casualties on the continent.

I have sent out messages to our spies in France... we need more information.

Hopefully, Mati Hari will give us what we need...

Charles Mangin, not so affectionately referred to as "The Butcher" by his men, drives his army on into Verdun.  The German defence is tissue thin, and so the place is captured.  The Frenchmen then get digging.

The Entente war economies are now roaring along, Britain almost has more industry than I know what to do with!

Summer 1916...

The CP is under seige from all sides.

Romania, however, falls to the Kaiser.

Looks like quite a challenge Lave but still - one determined Kaiser campaign to knock out Britain and you may yet turn the tide.

How far off is America ?

About half way.

I was wondering, and maybe if Frank is watching, could tell me, is their a variable event triggered by unrestricted submarine warfare such as the sinking of the Lusitania?

Ray (alias "The Kaiser" Lava)

FrankHunter -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/13/2007 6:34:15 PM)

Unrestricted uboats will move the US along the path to entry pretty fast.

James Ward -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/13/2007 6:45:53 PM)

How did Britain get to be wavering? I've never seen that.

SteveD64 -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/13/2007 7:30:07 PM)

When I played against the AI as the TE, Britain's morale was at 62% due to a relentless UBoat campaign.  Food was scarce.

James Ward -> RE: This is War King 'Nana! (9/13/2007 7:35:53 PM)

I have seen the Brits morale drop but it was after France and Italy fell and Russia was on the ropes. In this game the Brits have the WORST morale of the remaining TE nations. I am stunned! [:)]
