all5n -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/7/2008 6:55:07 PM)

We must be stalled out somewhere [:(]

Is someone making the mistake of letting real life interefere with a game??? [:-]

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/7/2008 7:00:30 PM)

LOL my real life is on hold just waiting for the turn to get to me.

I think it must be France who has the turn, as it comes to me after france and I've seen nothing.

BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/7/2008 10:34:19 PM)

Yes its Haudrauf (France). Don't worry he will have his turn shortly.

MrLongleg -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/7/2008 11:05:46 PM)

The French President had no other choice than to declare war to Spain. Due to an extreme shortage in Red Wine due to high demand from Elysee Palace and from Reichskanzlei in Berlin France has to expand its wineyards. It is obvious that Spanish wine production could definitely help to overcome this critical shortage quickly.

French navy and airforce formations started some heroic probe attacks on Spanish naval forces, just to find out, that those bastards shoot back. Propaganda messages from Spain mentioning shut down planes and sunken submarines are highly exagerated.

The spokesman of the Elysee Palace (the President is currently suffering from a bad head ache)

all5n -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/8/2008 12:40:26 AM)

I am aghast, sir. Aghast! After all Spain has done to preserve the peace between our nations...

The peace loving nation of Spain prefers to limit its aggression to political dissidents within her own borders, but now we shall unite to preserve our superior wine, 6 hour work days and 4 hour afternoon siestas!

The Spanish flag shall fly on the Eiffel Tower as we dine on Foie Gras and drink cognac.

- F. Franco

SlowHand -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/8/2008 10:56:28 AM)

This kind of brilliant speechifying should be in an AAR thread where people will "look" for it naturally, as opposed to here in 'Opponents Wanted," IMHO. But I'll have to wait until tomorrow, cause it's too late here. Night all.

BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/8/2008 3:43:14 PM)

Okay, okay, I've started an AAR thread for those interested. Feel free to spill the beans or boast of your exploits. Find it here:

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=1669754

Hope I haven't given too much away.

P.S I think it would be wise now to use the above thread to discuss anything rather than 'opponents wanted' as suggested by Slowhand. Therefore can we from now on just use the opponents wanted thread to tell us when they have had their turn.

Hope this is okay. Thanks guys.

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/8/2008 8:10:57 PM)

I have moved, given the 10pp back, and sent the turn on to Russia. This is a very friendly world, almost everyone is at peace!

SlowHand -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/9/2008 1:00:39 AM)

Turn 2 sent on from Russia to Turkey. No blood yet. Hard to keep track of all the Peace Feelers flying around.

GrumpyMel :  Don't be alarmed. Your picket unit just observed my Border Guards taking up their posts.

Мир и процветание,
Медленная Рука

Edit: oops, to read that last bit, you'll need to change your page "encoding" to Cyrillic Windows.

GrumpyMel -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/10/2008 6:29:43 AM)

Scandinavia just completed it's turn. File now sent to Germany for beggining of turn 3.

No worries Russia our border guards can engage in a spirited debate about who produces the better Vodka. Lets just hope they don't drink too much first.

all5n -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/10/2008 8:34:47 PM)

Seems like our pace is about 1 turn every 3 days.  I guess i need to get another game going to get my daily AT PBEM fix.

BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/10/2008 9:12:03 PM)

Turn sent to Italy. Yes I have just started another 3 PBMs to get some well needed experience.

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/10/2008 10:36:29 PM)

I'm sat playing a rnadom map against the AI, checking my email every 5 minutes, the wife is very unimpressed.

all5n -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/10/2008 11:32:07 PM)

My wife doesnt get it either.

Wife: Doesnt seem like there is anything going on in this game, theres no action
Me: Its not World of Warcraft. Moves are deliberate and thought-out.
Wife: Oh. Well give me $2000 for some new shoes.
Me: Yes dear.

mllange -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/11/2008 6:52:28 AM)

Turn three forwarded to the Balkans.

I'm not exactly equipped for it, but give me a ring the next time you're looking for another wife. You can borrow mine and she can split the profits with me!

T_K -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/12/2008 3:09:27 AM)

Turn 3 forwarded to France (right?)

all5n -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/12/2008 10:07:08 PM)

Any progress? Is it still france's turn?

MrLongleg -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/13/2008 12:06:05 AM)

It moved to England this morning (after sinking a mighty Spanish battleship [:D])

You can assume, that I have sent it on before I write any AAR. I was just too lazy to post here too.

all5n -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/13/2008 3:18:05 AM)

yeah i saw the AAR right after i posted.

MrLongleg -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/13/2008 3:59:15 PM)

Looks like Delyn's wife destroyed his computer after she did not get 2.000$ for new shoes (like all5n's wife)...

Delyn Locksmiths -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/13/2008 9:20:37 PM)

Sorry lads, it's been crazy busy. I sent the turn on this morning.

SlowHand -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/14/2008 12:58:52 AM)

Turn 3 sent to Turkey aka Therockyfroggy.

Russia's Serfs .... errr, Soldiers are struggling to cross the vastness of our Rodina to guard our Borders.

BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/16/2008 3:44:40 PM)

Anyone heard from TheRockyFrog? It seems that he has not sent his turn on for 3 days now...

therockyfroggy -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/16/2008 7:11:46 PM)

Crap...I look at my email every day to see if there's a new turn sent to me. I haven't seen one in a long time.

But, the email address I'm using, my woman also uses it because, other than this game, I am adopting her kid and we have emails sent to that address that she reads.

So, I just went back in there to look for a turn and found it - in the OLD MAIL folder.... she must have looked at it so it went to that folder so I never even knew I had received it....until now.....darn woman.

Ok, I just got to work so I can't play my turn until I get home...sorry....but I'm going to send a new email address JUST FOR THIS GAME so this wont happen again...sorry everyone. [:@]

therockyfroggy -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/17/2008 4:56:21 AM)

OK...just sent my turn off..sorry about that.

GrumpyMel -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/18/2008 1:57:50 AM)

Scandinavia Turn 3 complete and sent to Germany.

SlowHand -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/18/2008 6:05:44 AM)

Woo hoo, on to Turn 4 !

BULLDOGINTHEUK -> RE: European Diplomacy (for noobs) (1/18/2008 9:33:48 PM)

Turn 4 sent to Italy - The Balkans have attacked me without any provocation. Their armies are crossing into German territory.  We call for any help that anyone can give please!
