Dumnorix -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/14/2008 4:31:50 PM)

New pioneers with patch 1.03 for JTCS meets PG3D

• all pioneers (infantry, mot. and arm.) can laying minefields, (old 37 code)
• then the mine fields can be put either in the first front against an immediately attacking enemy or however in the safe distance mounted on transporters.
• naturally without enemy attack the mine fields will be vacated in the next round. The trick is to be moved here the mine fields mounted and be disappeared then with the 100 points of action. (screen 1) So all engineerbatl can not only mine fields vacate, but also put.The Batl. of infantry-divisons use horsewagons.
The mine capacity can be naturally also increased, one must simply with mounted pioneers on the mine field already put stop. As long as the responsible tender units optimally to stand one can increase the mine field now to 2 and 3.
• light bridges cannot put it however, that would be to me too strong switching of the river processes off in the defense in JTCS meets PG3D - in the original however quite better feasiblly.
• Pontonbridges can be put exclusively by the heavy bridge columns. (screen 2) This is then better indicated also graphically as in the original. (old 65539 code)
• In addition there are pioneer courses, which can repair railway bridges. (old 32768 code)
• Obstacles and trenches can be built of Construction Engineer / bridge engineers / Feldersatz / Bulldozers or buildinginfantry. They can also eliminated wrecks. (screen 3) (old 69 code)
• special pioneer-vehicles (SPW 251/7 or Sherman AVRE) can only transport vehicles over small rivers - than for examples, trucks can not move over small rivers.

Thanks to Jason Petho - Your new platoon-code-system + encrypted code I decoded in 5 minutes.
The new possibilities are mad, I however new additional pontoon diagrams in the Ford files would wish themselves.
Also - the damage-bridge-function is not working !

Huib -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/16/2008 11:43:13 PM)

I finally installed this and looked around in the Ardennes scenario. Very impressive. No doubt a good alternative for HPS B44. Funny thing I noticed here the same label mistake as in B44, namely the Elsenborn Ridge in the place of Staatsforst Monschau. Elsenborn Ridge doesn't exist: it's an American name of the line of hills just NE of Elsenborn [:)]
I'm going to play around with this in hotseat mode to get to know this jewel.
Thanks for this beautiful mod Herr Balck.

Huib

edit: noticed the MG44 map from HPS was also copied blindly with all it's massive errors. That's a pity really.

Dumnorix -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/19/2008 8:57:54 PM)

Hallo Huib
Thanks for your criticism.
Naturally the map of HPS Bulge'44 inspired me. HPS makes, as you surely knows,very bad maps into all games Panzer-campaigns and for Modern-Campaigns. I will revise and will more perfekt represent the Ardennen map shortly. In order to examine my accuracy, I recommend to you first my Barbarossa-Scenario. There you will find no more error. This is however not yet finished, can be however seen. If you have desire, then work nevertheless simply with us also, we need still more mapmaker.

gre81 -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/20/2008 3:16:05 AM)

Noticed that my 2d counter have the wrong symbols on them. Is there anyway to correct?

Yes, I will consider times in the next setup, who come to download on Sunday to. Normally I do not use this opinion, I need only the combat opinion 1 and the general map 5.

PS: Do you speak german Greg ? Sprichts Du deutsch ?

Hallo Herr Balck,

If you ever need map info about Holland, just contact me. I have all German 1:50:000 maps, the Germans had made during 1940-1945 occupation. They were issued in a big 500$ atlas 2 years ago. I was lucky enough to buy a copy in time.
I can correct the MG map for you. It's not so big and won't take too much time.
I have some good scenario ideas for a game of 1 km scale on the western front. First I have to take some time getting to know this game. Time is sparse though, I'm involved in some large JCTS projects.

Dumnorix -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/20/2008 12:15:27 PM)

Hallo Huib
To hear Oh very well. When can you begin with an exact treatment of the Marked garden.map? The map of Ardennenoffensive could be also improved. In addition I would like to publish complete Fall-Gelb-MP-scenario in until September 2008. Here also still the map must be substantially improved. I did this so far only for the campaign 1st tank division, to check in the Frankreich.map.

H.Balck

Huib -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/20/2008 2:02:35 PM)

-deleted this. Map faces NE to top which corrects distances.

Dumnorix -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/21/2008 10:46:36 PM)

I would welcome it much, if you could produce a perfectly new map in correct north adjustment. In addition I need urgently more mapmaker for the Barbarossa project.

Bioman -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/22/2008 9:21:48 PM)

Dumnorix:

I have downloaded your WW2 project and I have had 2 problems that make it unplayable. First in the 2D mode almost all of the non graphical unit icons are displayed as AT symbols. In the 3D mode there is a purple border to most of the terrain features like the roads and rivers which make the map impossible to use.
I will say that the work you have done on this project is awesome.

Nick

Hallo Nick

Please use combatview 1 and overview 5, 2d 4 is not correct now - it comes later with my new setup JTCS meets PG3D WWII v.1.05.

Befor you start with my mod, please change your desktop to 800x600 and 16-bit. Than you have no graphical errors !

Thanks Nick - I work on this in the last 4 years and many new scenarios and campaigns comes to you in the future.

Setting it to 16 bit colors was sufficient on my system. Didn't have to set it to 800x600.

Dumnorix -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/23/2008 5:23:22 PM)

Hallo Huib
Ja das ist schon richtig, aber die Grafik leidet trotzdem, da die Details in höherer Auflösung verwischt werden. Außerdem hat man nicht mehr das originale PG3D-feeling !

Gruß H.Balck

Huib -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/23/2008 11:48:50 PM)

Hmmm. I prefer the wider screen of 1680x1050
Perhaps a personal preference.... The 800x600 actually looks a lot worse than in this picture below and the 1680x1050 looks sharper than shown here...

Dumnorix -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/24/2008 12:02:32 AM)

Hallo Huib
I play with 800x600 - this is my favorit, otherwise you can go back to the original Matrix-graphic. The name is JTCS meets PG3D not JTCS meets something. In addition you did not install the correct winter diagrams !!! (Extra file)

Play the original game, this is better for you !

H.Balck

Huib -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/24/2008 12:25:12 AM)

My laptop cannot handle 800 x 600. The screen is blurry when I do so. Many new flatscreens need a certain resolution. For example my Samsung flat screen is only sharp at 1280x1024.

Dumnorix -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/24/2008 11:44:05 AM)

Witti44 -> RE: JTCS meets PG3D mod-upgrade (6/28/2008 8:08:00 PM)

Hi Balck,
