Hi all,

Oh my... where is this world (thread) going to... [:D]

Guys may I remind you that this is site for hardened people talking about WWII and not some "French Cousine" forum... [;)]

Also beens and canned meat is the one and only proper food! [8D]

Grilled tuna steaks are another of my favorites, and my son's! [8D] We get them frozen from Costco, and they are surprisingly good.

BrucePowers -> RE: The Thread!!! (6/30/2008 4:36:01 PM)

I only do canned tuna with lots of sweet relish and mayo.................

Question: so at what point does "Oil prices hit a new high" stop being news?  There has been an article on that every day for at least the last three months. [8|]  Now, "Oil prices decline"...THAT would be news...and happy news at that.

niceguy2005 -> RE: The Thread!!! (6/30/2008 5:03:31 PM)

Oh, and forum still broken tithe.

Edit...but I noticed that the store button works just fine. [:D]

So considering what Mr. Gates has done for Windows and computers, what does this say about the agricultural revolution he wants to lead in Africa?

Mynok -> RE: The Thread!!! (6/30/2008 5:16:19 PM)

I also lack the taste gene but have the smell gene. And grilled is the only way I eat asparagus.

Anyone know a good recipe for asparagus?

Steamed(but still crunchy) served with a soft-poached egg..........alternatively......Grilled.....then cover in Extra-virgin Olive oil......and sprinkle over some fresh Parmesan.....Aparagus can be difficult to marry with wine......maybe a fresh Sauvignon Blanc........or more rustic.....a Rose' the south of France is littered with many good ones....Yum......I'll be over later......

I'll have to give steamed a go. I've grilled it and it is great that way. Last night I blanched them and then sauteed in garlic and butter.

After last night I've come to the conclusion that blanching is a must.

As far wine it was red and from Spain. The variety I'm uncertain of.

Well, looky at what the cat drug in! YAVA!!

Mynok -> RE: The Thread!!! (6/30/2008 5:23:43 PM)

You don't have to blanch if you grill them. Turn the heat low and leave them for 20 minutes or so...until they are as crispy as you like.
