Okay. I'm going home now. I will go to my bedroom, crawl into bed, cover up my head, and never come back out.

I just ran across a "news report" stating that some bunch of genetically challenged of uncertain genus and species report that they have seen Michael Jackson's image in a tree stump and have created a shrine around it.

Goodbye, cruel world. Parting was never easier...

How could you possibly not expect that type of insanity? [:D]

The first guy that sees it says, "cha-ching!" and it takes off from there...[:D]

Anyway, temperatures are much better today then yersterday: "only" 30° today.[8|]

Welcome to the club... it is sunny and rainy here for the past 14 days... temperatures around 30 degrees Centigrade but with high humidity...

Leo "Apollo11"

Could you please send some rain? it's dry over here, no rain for 17 days, and there is the beggining of lack of water for the plants .....

No... no rain for you until after July 26. At least I wish that would be the case... [;)]

Okay... I haven't had any time to read the forum for the past few days... it's often the case in July for me!

Brad, i suspect you don't want rain, just for the sport competition that you like and that occur in my country [;)]

C'est vrais.

Historiker, you do a great job keeping your bike clean! [:)]

Jawohl, but you know how anal retentive we Germans are.

But that sucker looks like it's never been ridden ... and the "21st-century-Dorothy-ruby slippers" look like they've never been worn...

Now, I hold a minor interest in the bicycle seat industry, and, until one of you maniacal perverts goes and sniffs that seat for evidence of human habitation, I'm withholding judgment on the veracity and applicability of that picture...

The only thing in my life that I am anal about keeping clean is my bike. Because of that I have one bike from 1980 that looks almost like a new bike (a few paint chips here and there).

That being said, I'll bet that particular bike was very new when he took that photo.

Here's a picture of the bike I ride most often. It was only a couple of years old when the pic was taken.

Okay, Mike... it's your turn. Let's see a pic of your ride.

bradfordkay -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2009 4:54:34 AM)

Sorry about the width of the above pic, guys. Even though it's poorly cropped it's still too wide for the page. I just recently had to reformat my computer due to a virus and I haven't reinstalled a decent photo editing program since then. This was done with the MS Paint that comes with XP.

Yes. It's nothing that special, only Aluminium but of good quality and at least with Shimano 105 all over.

Very similar to mine. Unfortunately I don't have a good pic of mine. It's a black and white Lemond Etape. Aluminium "entry level" road bike, with the carbon front fork. I've added aerobars since I ride mostly alone as training for triathlons, so I'm not closely drafting anyone. The poor thing has been severely ignored for way too long. [:(]

Historiker -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2009 11:48:03 AM)

like this?

I'm going to buy this next week and am looking forward to it:

I'm really exited to test it in the alps where I'm going to be for the next 4-8 weeks :)

USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/10/2009 11:56:50 AM)

Good find, Historiker!  That's my bike.  [:)]

I would enjoy having a bike for off road riding, as we have a fantastic state park just a few minutes from me with excellent dirt roads.  I can't justify having a second bike right now, when the first spends most of it's time taking up space in the garage.  [:D]

It's again very cheap. Just 800 Euro without pedals. So about 1000 with helmet, shoes, etc...
I need it as many friends go off road quite often and I can't join and as I wasn't riding the whole witer because of wet/snowy roads. I hope I'll stay more in the saddle even in winter when I finally have this one.

The quality is again amazing, Bulls really has an amazing price/performance ratio.

So with all the expertise on bicycles here on the Thread, is there any recommendation for a bike for me. I rode avidly (thirty miles a day thru the late 80's , but stopped upon marriage-my wife didn't ride-I taught her at age 26-It was very, very ugly!) My last ride was a 27' Raliegh 12 speed (I'm really dating myself) and have had people suggesting some form of mountain bike as there are a lot of trails in this area, but DC metro is second to only LA for bad traffic (pretty much eliminating road riding). Well, I count on racing bikes, but if this is impossible, I'd choose a hardtail with disc brakes. If you're as heavy as I am, you need airfilled shock absorbers.
