That's pretty unpleasant, Robert. Especially since it's the wrong sort of rodent, and therefore gratuitous...

There's no such thing as the 'wrong sort' of dead rodent. [:'(]

My, my....someone left things quite open for a defacement there.....

So, Mike, did you get a look at the turn?

Yeah, I did.

Mike Solli -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/27/2009 2:36:29 AM)

Well, guys, I'm off to bed. Gotta get up a bit early tomorrow to check for AE and shave off a weeks beard. Then get to work early so I can begin checking for AE between meetings. Night all!

BrucePowers -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/27/2009 2:46:06 AM)

I was looking for advice here[sm=nono.gif][:D]

BrucePowers -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/27/2009 2:47:16 AM)

BUMP. I didn't like that number[:D]

Wirraway_Ace -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/27/2009 4:01:28 AM)

I just wanted to note that at 2200 CDT (0300 GMT), there were more than 50 people watching the AE threads...Interest seems high.

Wirraway_Ace -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/27/2009 4:11:01 AM)

Before I sign off, I wanted to ask the collective wisdom of THE THREAD your thoughts on the best books on the war in Burma and Slim's campaign to retake the Malaya.

I have Shore's "Bloody Shambles" series on the air war.  I am nearly finished with book 3.  I have Bayly and Harper's "Forgotten Armies" which I am reading in parallel with the Shore series.  Finally, I have Winton's "The Forgotten Fleet" of which I have only read the first chapter; I am waiting to catch-up in time in the other two books.

Your thoughts?
thanks,
mike

Hello guys!
I was on the road again, 540km in 10 days now... [8D] But damn, I really need other cycling trousers, everyting hurts...

You only have one pair of cycling shorts? How bad are your saddle sores?

BTW: other than that it sounds like you had a good time... I'm happy for you (and jealous of the vacation).

Here's an old mountain biking photo from a trail here in Washington... the person in the shot is an old riding buddy from Georgia who was out here on vacation.

BTW: your mountains are more beautiful!

Of course I have more than one pair, but all of the same kind. What means saddle sores? Pains?

ATM, there are only two things limiting the distance I'm riding: The pain from the saddle beginning at about 80km and the shoes. I only have fibre glass ground and consequently, after 50-60 km it hurts badly. Getting off the bike and masaging the foot for 5min helps for another 30km, but that's really uncomfortable...

I'm going to buy new shoes, soon, but I'm still uncertain what to do with the saddle, it even hurts when using cushion. Maybe its the friction of the trouser, but when standing and being off the saddle, there's no more pain immediately.

Yep. We've got the 20 week scan for sprog so that's more important than AE as far as I'm concerned [:D]

Damn car needs a new wheel bearing.  Four hours back from the Lake District with a constant droning was not fun.  And when Mrs Dixie was quiet there was the noise from the wheel [:'(]
