This is a short in-character AAR of a small fleet operation in EvE Online. My character is in the Amarr capsuleer militia, the 24th Imperial Crusade. We are opposed by the Minmatar capsuleer militia, Tribal Liberation Force. These are not player created alliances, but organizations set up by the NPC states to get the capsuleers fight for them in their wars. The fighting takes place in low security space and the aim is to capture enemy military complexes, which, in the end, will lead to the capture of whole systems. We formed up an hour or two after prayer hours in cruisers and frigates and started hunting the heathens and terrorists on their home ground in the HED constellation. We had about 15 ships. The catch was scarce in the beginning, we only managed to crash a small gatecamp consisting of three cruisers and a battleship, and one cruiser and the battleship got away. After that we captured a republic fleet military complex to force a battle but the enemy did not react. Two 24th Imperial Crusade Omen class cruisers after the destruction of terrorist vessels. We then received reports of a large heathen fleet operating in deeper Metropolis and moving back into Heimatar, where we were flying around, causing havoc. We then reshipped into battlecruisers and other heavier ships, with yours truly hopping into an Armageddon class battleship, the only battleship in the fleet so I acted as a fleet flagship of sorts when we were moving around, although the true fleet commander, FoolishBob, remained in his Harbinger class battlecruiser. 24th Imperial Crusade Harbinger and Prophercy class battlecruisers and other ships undocking from a station in Dal system. 24th Imperial Crusade fleet in warp. The enemy fleet arrived in Dal as well eventually, but evaded us for about 30-45 minutes. A few lighter vessels were encountered and destroyed. When we finally managed to engage them at a stargate it became apparent that they had reshipped into heavier ships than we had and outnumbered us. We lost two battlecruisers vs. one of theirs which is quite an acceptable outcome when you consider that we ended up in an ambush with 6 battleships and almost twice our numbers in supporting vessels on the enemy side and just one battleship on our side. Our fleet then quickly reformed, with many pilots undocking their battleships. 24th Imperial Crusade battleships assembling at a stargate. As we moved out it became apparent that the enemy had once again gone into hiding and dispersed, unwilling to fight on equal terms and unable to bring heavier forces than ours on the field anymore. However they were still more than happy to take advantage of lone Falcon class recon cruisers foolishly uncloaking at a station and engaging. That was how the lone loss of our battleship fleet occurred when said falcon engaged a portion of the enemy fleet at a station in Auga system... One can only imagine the dismay of the enemy when, even before the Falcon disintegrated, a fleet of 7 battleships, 6 battlecruisers and other supporting ships landed right on top of them and unleashed their firepower. A bad day to be a terrorist. All in all 3 battleships, 4 cruisers, a destroyer and 2 frigates were lost for the enemy, as well as 4 of their pilots being sent back to their cloning bay. Our side suffered no further losses. The enemy made no further attempts to engage us after that.
