Ike99 -> Ike (9/11/2008 5:55:44 PM)

Me and Borners game goes to pause as he must prepare his defences against another, more serious Ike.

So we have to hope for him the best.

borner -> RE: Ike (9/12/2008 3:49:21 AM)

thanks IKE, may your namesake turn away at the last minute and only be a near miss instead of a critcal hit.

As for the game, got another of IKE's MSW's   [:)]

You running short of PC's yet? Probably not, but quite sporting of you to send them out in small groups for my subs to pick them off!  [sm=Crazy-1271.gif]

borner -> RE: New Month (9/26/2008 2:27:00 AM)

Not much to report. B-17's hit a convoy off Buna, sinking another MSW (4 lost now), and an AP. In points, IKE has now lost more ships, but he considers these expendable. A sub put 2 torps into one of his nice large ML's, and another barely made it to port afloat. This makes I beleive 3 badly damaged ML's for him. While i wish they had sunk, cutting his minelaying capasity by such a margin so early will pay off later I do believe. In addtion, I hope the loss of his sweepers allows my sub mines to find an extra target.. or two.. or three....

Yes, losing Okinshima, pride of the Imperial mine laying fleet was not good.

Ike99 -> Bug Report (9/27/2008 3:02:07 PM)

Me and Brian have come into a game bug.

For some reason the entire Japanese 35th Brigade is teleporting from magic from Rabaul to Wunpuko.

[:@]

So we´ll see how he wants to resolve this.

jwilkerson -> RE: Bug Report (9/27/2008 5:05:27 PM)

In WITP we found "disappearing unit" and "teleporting unit" bugs that were related to fragments which had supposedly been deactivated (removed from the map) getting reconnected to actual active units (even ones from the other side), thus causing strange behavior. Did either side have a fragment in that hex recently?

I'm guessing the only way to fix this is for you to go down there and at least pull some fragments out - that still might not bring the whole unit back. If you absolutely want the whole unit back - you may need a "truce" while you go down, pick it up and bring it back to Rabaul.

Yes we calling a truce to pick fix this up because now the Units that teleported into Wunpuko are now teleporting into Luganville.

I never had a unit there recently or at all, Borner said he had a engineer unit in route to Wunpuko. We have the saves if you want to look at it.

Perhaps some kind of a Japanese "Philadelphia Experiment"...........

Such bugs are very annoying........[:@]

borner -> RE: Bug Report (9/27/2008 7:28:32 PM)

Star Trek meets UV I guess!!!!!!   Now he has units in Luganville too!!!!!

tocaff -> RE: Bug Report (9/27/2008 7:33:19 PM)

Ah - is this a MOD? If so looking at the editor files might be worth while. Like any chance there are duplicate units in there??

No, this is not a MOD. normal 2by3 scenario 17, I´m not sure what was meant by that either.

Houserule- No Nighttime Carrier Operations. Besides this it´s anything goes.

We have all the saves if you want to look and see what´s going on with the program here.

tocaff -> RE: Bug Report (9/27/2008 11:53:09 PM)

I think he he saw my joke about it being an Ikemod and forgot that UV can't be changed like WITP.  [8D]

bigred -> RE: Bug Report (9/28/2008 12:42:27 AM)

Maybe this is the famous programmers bug, put in on purpose by the origianal programmer to prove his power and knowledge to us mere mortals.

borner -> RE: Bug Report (9/28/2008 12:47:02 AM)

I am just glad this is a finished product and not in need of another patch.. that oh by the way could adjust the F4U issue....... oops.... I am ranting again... sorry.....  [:-]

guess that is all the sci-fi smilies I could work in.....    [sm=character0167.gif]

bigred -> RE: Bug Report (9/28/2008 2:11:47 AM)

Replay the turn and give the 65 brigade a move order into the jungle.

Kingfisher -> RE: Bug Report (9/29/2008 1:57:37 AM)

I remember witnessing something like this a long time ago, only it was in reverse, with an Australian brigade being teleported to Rabaul.

The brigade was part of a full division unloaded at Lae to assault the city. While the rest of the division got on with the attack, the brigade teleported to Rabaul, but still under the 'launch deliberate attack' orders. Needless to say it suffered horrendous casualties against the well fortified Japanese. Whats even weirder is after the one disastrous attack the brigade teleported back to Lae, but still registering the losses incurred from its battle near Rabaul.

borner -> RE: Bug Report (9/29/2008 2:06:53 AM)

We ended up going back about 2 weeks in the game... sadly, IKE's big ML only took one torp hit this time.

bigred -> RE: Black hole of Rabaul (9/29/2008 4:24:56 AM)

Sounds like the "black hole of Rabaul" with an auto transport to a new location.

bigbaba -> RE: Black hole of Rabaul (9/29/2008 6:29:07 AM)

glad that you dont surrender to this nasty bug and continue this intresting game, gentlemen.

borner -> RE: Black hole of Rabaul (9/30/2008 3:47:13 AM)

Bagged a couple more AP's in the last few turns.... the death of a thousand paper cuts goes on. Sadly no new hits on ML's or MSW's recently.

borner -> RE: Black hole of Rabaul (10/6/2008 12:13:55 AM)

Hit another of IKE's Minelayers......    Okinshima, having only taken one torp after our jump back, I am sure lived, but this makes 4 of his ML's that have been takes hits. Sunk or not, that's all the fewer mines when I come forward.

[>:]

not even any targets for my subs. Ike must have been frightened off! [:D]

Ike99 -> RE: Black hole of Rabaul (10/19/2008 9:39:12 PM)

Borner tells me he formed a fast transport group at Luganville and it now has 6,000 Japanese troops on it.

So Allied fast transport fleets are now carrying Japanese soldiers around.
