lol nice work Peter, you guys aren't going to make it easy for me are you? [:D] Seems like Napoleon has stirred up a hornet's nest in Europe!

Mus -> RE: "house rule" (4/7/2009 12:26:13 AM)

Turkish turn in.  This game IS getting really complicated.

I noticed the French Imperial Guard is reverted to normal infantry. I think this happens too readily. I dont think theres much precedent for Elite troops like that to revert to normal troop status because of a couple minor setbacks.

Franck -> RE: "house rule" (4/7/2009 7:50:52 PM)

Well IW: I can also claim that you have been a real pain in the arse too! All of Italy is not french controled (almost) and you took control of venetia.

All I got to show for this is... NOTHING apart from a bloody nose :) But heh, I'm keeping the spirit! And miraculously my people too :D

I just need to beat that french army once and everyone will be happy!

Mus:The french imperial guard is NEVER considered a guard unit from the start of the game. It is just an infantry unit with REALLY high moral.
That might explain it.

Kingmaker -> RE: "house rule" (4/7/2009 11:04:03 PM)

HiHi

Russias T10 orders sent in.

All the Best

It is in the 1805 scenario. Is this specific to the 1803 scenario?

Also when I asked some questions about Guard units a few weeks back I was told by Eric Babe that the issue with Guard units being labeled as "Inf" or the label sometimes being left blank was a diplay bug of some kind. They are treated as Guards by the game and you can tell whether or not its a Guard or regular Inf by its icon (not the row of icons used to show morale/strength but the single icon showing type), not by the label.

Internal to the game engine, guard units are just infantry units with morale above 8. There is indeed a display bug in the place you mention in which guards are described as "Inf" when -- in fact -- they should be described as "Grd."

PS I just checked and the Imperial Guard is in fact a mislabeled Guard unit at the start of 1803, so something happened to it in the war already (was defeated in battle or took massive casualties perhaps?) to cause it to revert to normal infantry status. This is happening too easily in my opinion.

Matto -> RE: "house rule" (4/8/2009 8:55:00 PM)

We are playing slowly and slowly ... missing Prussia, Austria and Sweden

barbarossa2 -> RE: "house rule" (4/9/2009 12:14:35 AM)

Yeah... Why are we having trouble keeping to 48 hour max turns?  We should be able to get our turns done a little faster than this, barring emergencies.

If there is going to be some reason you cant make your turn within the 48 hours, please try to let us know ahead of time.

timurlain -> RE: "house rule" (4/9/2009 7:46:50 AM)

Hello,

Turn sent.

I am sorry, this was my bad for not sending the turn. I had it ready on Monday, but waited with the send and then forgot. I will take measures so it doesn't happen again. [;)]

Matto -> RE: "house rule" (4/9/2009 8:38:40 AM)

Do not forget that I need some time for playing too ... and I can play only after you all !

Kingmaker -> RE: "house rule" (4/9/2009 6:18:32 PM)

Franck -> RE: "house rule" (4/9/2009 10:49:42 PM)

So itching to get home so I can see what happened...

I have a feeling Nappy is sitting on Illirya :)

IronWarrior -> RE: "house rule" (4/10/2009 12:27:57 PM)

Hey Peter,

Absolutely [:D] I was bummed... really wanted to make some Russians pay for messin' with Marseilles. [&:]

Thanks for the heads up on the guard Mus, that's really odd.

France Turn 11 in.

timurlain -> RE: "house rule" (4/10/2009 1:03:13 PM)

Prussian turn 11 in.

How do you guys set up a more detailed events report ? I have noticed you talking about that and some replays or something like that. I am currently seeing very little in the events that does not concern me.

Matto -> RE: "house rule" (4/10/2009 2:31:12 PM)

Must check all tabs ... there are more detailed information

Franck -> RE: "house rule" (4/10/2009 3:02:30 PM)

It seems odd to me that my armies seems to keep failing 2 moves a turn... Last turn I had all my armies set to move 3 provinces... Unfortunetely, 3 armies moved one province and 1 army moved 2!!!!!!!!! This keep happening to me even when, last turn, all my moves were along ''green'' arrows!

Any one else noticed that... Or I'm just pretty unlucky (or maybe have bad leaders... I don't think any of them have strategic bonus)

Kingmaker -> RE: "house rule" (4/10/2009 4:25:56 PM)

HiHi

Look on the Bright side Bill, in Marseilles there's 14,000 Russians showing your French Ladies 'a Goodtime' I'm sure you can catch them with their pants down! [;)]

All the Best
Peter

Turkeys in as well.

barbarossa2 -> RE: "house rule" (4/10/2009 9:05:50 PM)

LOL... Remind me not to be Sweden in my next game.  We mostly get to sit around.

If I see Lenin's move go in, I will send mine out by Saturday. :)

Franck -> RE: "house rule" (4/10/2009 10:15:29 PM)

LOL :) Declare war on France... You'll have something to do :)

I guess it's a nice learning power tough. If this game WASN'T 1000 glory points, and not my first, I believe I would have surrendered before. As it stand I do not loose anyhting by fighting on until I defeat the French or he force me to surrender... Because let's face it... He stole all my protectorates :(

Franck -> RE: "house rule" (4/10/2009 10:15:44 PM)

By the way turn sent... tell me if there were a prob

barbarossa2 -> RE: "house rule" (4/11/2009 12:00:03 AM)

Sweden's turn 11 orders in.

lenin -> RE: "house rule" (4/11/2009 8:04:51 AM)

Brits in.
Sorry I'm last, didn't think turn was due until Sunday.

barbarossa2 -> PBEM 1A (4/11/2009 6:01:26 PM)

Sweden is announcing a policy of armed neutrality.  Additionally, we are announcing that we will PERMANENTLY join the enemies of the first nation which attacks our units in the field or steps foot on Swedish soil.

However, most importantly, we denounce any surrender conditions applied to any party (pro-French or Pro-British or Pro-Russian) which strips any surrendering party of their homelands (defined as having ONLY a flag of that nationality in the information box at the start of the 1792 campaign--mixed flags do not count under this policy) and will have to permanently enter the war on the side of the alliance which has had such an unjust peace imposed on it. As far as Gustav IV is concerned any regions which have ONLY the home nation's flag in them at the start of the 1792 campaign game are ineligible for annexation and to do so would be illegal and a violation of the target sovereign's rights.

It would sadden me to be forced to join any coalition permanently if attacked or if unjust surrender conditions be imposed on any party.

Additionally, the occupation of Mecklenburg is not meant to be a permanent one, but is negotiable. Sweden exerts its right to be a viable power. Mecklenburg was a neutral minor nation which had been released by the French free of will when we entered it. Let it be known that Sweden does not have an "aggressive" PBEM stance against anyone as we view such stances to be hostile and openly aggressive and capable of casting all of Europe off the precipice of war very quickly and unjustly.

lenin -> RE: PBEM 1A (4/12/2009 1:32:15 AM)

British turn in. Fear my fleets!

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM 1A (4/12/2009 10:22:31 AM)

That IS a scary proclamation, lenin! [:(]
