IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM (3/17/2009 11:16:08 PM)

Hi, France turn 3 is in (emailed to Matto). [8D]

barbarossa2 -> RE: PBEM (3/17/2009 11:55:57 PM)

Sweden Turn 3 is in.

Nice to have you on board Iron Warrior. :)

Mus -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 2:11:17 AM)

Yeah.  Thanks for stepping in IW.  Will have my turn in in a bit.

My turn is in.

barbarossa2 -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 4:45:22 AM)

Well, if you could bet me a copy of the next turn by 4PM New York time on Wednesday the 18th of March, I could quickly turn it around and get it out to you again. But I will be gone on a trip from Thursday, March 19th to Sunday, March 22. I can promise you that as soon as I get back in, I will make checking my email a priority, and (barring discovering waves of Moroccans on the beaches of Malmo) have the turn out to you in an hour or two after that.

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 9:27:44 AM)

HiHi

Russian T3 orders sent in.

Yer ditto Mus's comments above IW.

All the Best
Peter

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 1:27:39 PM)

Waiting just for Prussia now ... pretty quick [8D]

timurlain -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 2:33:21 PM)

Prussia's turn send. Sorry for being last.

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 3:48:40 PM)

HiHi

Deduct 3 points from your "I'm a Good guy!!!" score [:D]

All the Best
Peter

timurlain -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 4:07:28 PM)

Nice one :)

lenin -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 6:10:03 PM)

Hmmm, interesting turn from the British point of view. 2 potentially decisive naval engagements in the North Sea and Bay of Biscay have done wonders to reduce French national morale and increase mine. Looks like the French are broke too..

Have to go out this evening, but will try to get my turn in later. If not, you won't get it until about this time tomorrow as I have to work for a living...[:D]

barbarossa2 -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 9:11:21 PM)

Hey guys,

I have sent my turn 4 in.

Remember, I will be gone until Sunday now. But the minute I get back in, I will check my email(s) and have the next turn out within a couple of hours if necessary.

Good luck to everyone. I am enjoying myself already (as you can tell, I get a kick out of the King of Sweden!)

See ya.

lenin -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 10:32:01 PM)

Managed to get my 4th turn in too.
Really enjoying this game, it's been perfect to "learn the ropes".
Good luck with your move Barbarossa, and we'll see you when you get back on Sunday / Monday.

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 10:46:20 PM)

Hey guys,

Did turn 3 get accomplished? Haven't received a new file.

Thanks for the welcome and letting me step in.

Mus -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 11:15:18 PM)

Thats weird, yeah I got turn 4 this morning. And turkey is already in.

Matto can you resend to IW?

PS Do we all have IWs email for if we want to explain a treaty offer?  I have it because we are in another game together, but maybe not everyone has it.

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 11:47:02 PM)

Does everyone get the same file for the new turn? If so maybe someone can shoot me a copy so I can get started on my turn.

Sounds like a rough start for the new upstart Emperor (me). [:D]

Mus -> RE: PBEM (3/18/2009 11:59:52 PM)

IW I forwarded the turn 4 email from Matto.  Shoot him another email and make sure he has your email I guess, but you should be able to finish this turn from the files it contains.

PS News of large naval engagements between France and England in the event report this turn. Maybe one of the participants could take some SS's and provide a little AAR type commentary? Spice up the thread a little and spark some interest?

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM (3/19/2009 1:31:05 AM)

HiHi

Russias T4 orders sent in

All the Best
Peter

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM (3/19/2009 1:59:34 AM)

Thanks Mus, France turn 4 is in.

Well that was definately a sobering first turn! [:D] I can see why no one wants to play as France lol. Even my lone ally is making secret deals behind my back!

Well at least after that hit maybe all eyes won't be on France anymore. [:D] I should have known better than to think I could slip past the British fleet.

Have a nice trip barbarossa!

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM (3/19/2009 2:34:33 AM)

HiHi

IW I think the guy that started france actually wanted it and the rest was sort of built round that.  If it's as bad as you suggest maybe that’s why he did a runner!  Here’s hoping you are made of sterner stuff, Good Luck ... but not too much of it if you cross swords with Russia [:)]

All the Best
Peter

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM (3/19/2009 2:38:31 AM)

Heh it's all good, I appreciate the challenge. Was just kidding around, having a blast so far even if my newbieness is showing. [:)]

lenin -> RE: PBEM (3/19/2009 7:26:22 AM)

Thanks for taking up the reigns Irowarrior! Glad it looks like we at last have a stable group and can make progress in this. Don't feel too bad about the Dutch fleet, it was dead whatever - outnumbered several times over and protected by too few naval guns. You were probably unlucky on the dice roll for the Brest Fleet when it sallied, as I expected you would have done more damage to my fleet when you did. Still, you were never going to win the war at sea.

Don't worry about making any mistakes. Several of us here never played COG so we are all noobs too. This pbem is really helping me to learn to play the game, particularly the advanced economy.

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/19/2009 10:15:43 AM)

IronWarrior ... excuse my mistake ... next time it will be correct

Nice you port raided Amsterdam and took out the Dutch Fleet?

More or less, yeah.

IronWarrior -> RE: PBEM (3/19/2009 9:16:30 PM)

No problem Matto, we'll get it all going smoothly.

Not sure if lenin attacked the port, but I did try to sally out in an attempt to link my fleets together. Had set them to avoid battle, but got snagged. [:D]

Mus -> RE: PBEM (3/20/2009 1:18:05 AM)

Does anyone know if you are more likely to be the defender and have a greater chance to lose wind gauge if you put your units on avoid battle?

Or is attacker/defender soley based on who has more units?

Franck -> RE: PBEM (3/20/2009 1:38:27 AM)

I haven't looked at naval at all... That's why I wanted Prussia or Austria... But then I woke up with the whole Venetian fleet before it got sunk...

Anyone knows where is Naple's fleet hanging at ???

Hey IW... If you didn't know you have an army sitting in Naples... It's disguissed as a Naples's cavalry... But it's actually quite big and menacing... If you wouldn't mind moving it back toward France :)

I'm also really enjoying this... I also like the fact that I find it really hard to do things... In single player I always play one general... So when this general gets into a battle I fight it Detailed combat style... I do not have to say that this makes me win some unlikely engagement while I'm afraid of any clash against the little corsican usurper in pbem... :)

Kingmaker -> RE: PBEM (3/20/2009 10:15:09 AM)

HiHi

Wot!!! ... still no T5, come on chaps I'm getting withdrawl symptoms [:(]

All the Best
Peter

The defender is the first fleet to occupy the sea zone.

Matto -> RE: PBEM (3/20/2009 4:44:23 PM)

Files send ... give me know, if anybody missed
