Since I am so ignorant of the history of the Napoleonic wars I have been trying to catch up. It seems that only Great Britain was able to stay at war with the French through almost the entire thing (other than a few years during the quieter times).

Which is why wars with Britain never lapses in this game. A great feature.

Mus -> RE: further reading (7/1/2009 10:59:50 AM)

Brits are experts at holding a grudge.

Otto's in.

Looks like the mighty Austrian Empire is having some morale problems-interesting. It appears to be getting worse rather than better.

Sure because all Poland is in unrest state ... it will change, when unrest disappear ...

For some strange reason, the Sultan does not feel at ease with the thought of less unrest in Poland.

Mus -> RE: PBEM 109 (7/2/2009 12:44:40 AM)

Who we waiting on this turn?

06 Maestro -> RE: PBEM 109 (7/2/2009 6:12:06 PM)

Commendations are in order (or at least a letter of appreciation) for the players to have continued the game during the great Matrix Blackout of 01/07/09. A less hearty crew would have faltered w/o guidence from The Forum.

Now, turn 12, who is the laggard.[:)]

MorningDew -> RE: PBEM 109 (7/2/2009 9:20:38 PM)

Turn 12? My last one was Turn 11?

Yes, my last received (and returned)turn was 11. We are now waiting on 12-it is likely IW has not received all turn 11 yet-thus the question.

Not meaning to rush anyone...

Thanks for letting us know. That reduces the aggravation quite a bit just by knowing what's going on. It gets old checking the mail and checking here to see what's happening.

I hope it cools down in your neck of the woods. Here in southern Nevada I think we just had the coolest June on record-10 to 15 degrees F less through most of the month-plus clouds which is rare. It has warmed up recently-almost 100F-will be over that for the next few days. Pool water has reached 85F[:D] It still cools you off though.

And peace in Europe now rests in the hand of Preussia.
Preussian presence on the WEST side of the Rhine is not acceptable!

The French speak of unacceptability as he crushes the Dutch... Tssk tssk it was they that created the situation they find themselves in.

The Bavarian King was forced to our benevolence by the fear of French oppression. Being a King, he was worried about the safety of his head under your rule.

Let us see them release the Dutch as an olive branch...

terje439 -> RE: PBEM 109 (7/7/2009 10:14:53 AM)

To witch the only French reply is:

Well I can release the Dutch after the Poles are liberated, atleast those you supress at the moment.
If neither is done within very short time, war will come!

L'Terje de France

terje439 -> RE: PBEM 109 (7/7/2009 10:22:25 AM)

Seems the Preussians never took any Polish lands, they only got some Austrian land...
Well...

Too bad so many a young man needs to die just because the Germanic tribes are back on the wrong side of the Rhine...
L'Terje de France

aprezto -> RE: PBEM 109 (7/7/2009 10:24:13 AM)

Ah, the first we hear of the Poles. I thought your problem was with us being on the wrong side of the Rhine. The Bavarians are purely 'close friends' of the Prussians.
It was their choice to ally themselves with a monarchy. I don't remember the Dutch asking you to declare war on them.

We did not declare war on the Poles.

a: I don't remember the Dutch asking you to declare war on them.

b: We did not declare war on the Poles.

a) Nope, a much more powerful king asked me for that.
b) But you had no problems accepting her territory I see.

And the only reason the Poles come into play is due to some messages arriving from Berlin by pidgeons demanding me out of Netherlands before Preussia MIGHT consider going back to their side of the river.
Our generous counter to this was the release of Poland would see the release of The Netherlands.

Oh well, guess we will find out how well the Preussians fight then, this time without their southern ally...

L'Terje de France

aprezto -> RE: PBEM 109 (7/7/2009 7:59:45 PM)

A much more powerful King...? Mus, you'll have to get the width of the doors at the Palace extended.

We had no problem accepting Austrian territory from the Austrians, just as we had no problem lending Prussian territory to the Austrians. The fact the land used to be Polish should be taken up with the Austrians.

I think the period of enforced peace after the anullment of a war is 3 months. It was when Prussia gave up her Phoney War with France. Do you think you can knock me off in that time?

Because the Austrians will be treaty bound to honour their Pledge of Defence when that period is over.

Matto -> RE: PBEM 109 (7/7/2009 8:16:47 PM)

Dear Kaiser,
do not discuss with man who is only insulting Your Majesty ... if French people need a war, we are available for match ... people and God knows, where is the true ...

aprezto -> RE: PBEM 109 (7/7/2009 9:06:00 PM)

My Apologies King Matto;

It seems we have not heard the last of the rabid Revolutionary.
