My sister-in-law has talked about retiring there. If I want to see my brother in the future I may have to go there[sm=nono.gif][:D]

I'd rather retire in Tennessee. Very pretty and low cost of living.

Tennessee is great, I lived there for 4.5 years while in the Navy, but it's too far from the smell of salt water for me.

Ironic, since I was stationed there while in the USN. [:D]

USSAmerica -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/31/2009 5:32:05 PM)

Lunch - Tithe. [&o]

Mike Solli -> RE: THE THREAD!!! (7/31/2009 5:34:59 PM)

But which one is the lady? Or maybe it's one of those modern same-sex couples. I hear they're all the rage in many parts of Europe...

evidently its ok in england as i was watching torchwood last night and they seemed to have no problem showing it. and since all english are like tv shows about them that must mean speedy is a nancy boy.

Last night, my girlfriend was riding her bicycle without a helmet and hit a wet patch. When she braked, she went right over the handlebars and smashed her head into a steel post. Her skull is fractured, her nose is broken, and she now has over a hundred stitches. She may have also fractured her orbitals. Her forehead was literally torn away from her skull in places. She's going to be okay, but her forehead will have a pretty impressive Harry Potter scar for probably the rest of her life.

This week. THIS WEEK! I really am at the end of my tether.

wow sorry to hear that man.

There was a huge Naval Aviation Technical Training Command there, at what had become a rather small Naval Air Station. For many, many years, all enlisted aviation maintenance schools were there for USN and USMC. My last year on active duty, over Christmas of 1996, the entire command was relocated to NAS Pensacola as part of BRAC. I spent my last 4.5 years enlisted as an instruction at the avionics "A" school there. I have to say that as much as I enjoyed Tennessee, the base and living near the beach in P'cola was much nicer. [:D] Not to mention the free airshow every Tuesday at lunch, when the Blue Angels did their weekly practice. [8D]

Millington is not Tennessee...well it is...but its "west" Tennessee...whereas "east" Tennessee is much nicer...IMHO. Mom's Husband MkII was a chief at Millington...she has since started on Husband MkIII.

Tithe by the way..

I liked the Ozarks area in a limited-gene-pool-albino-banjo-playing-kid-from-deliverance sort of way.
