Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/6/2011 11:50:31 PM)

Turn 59 sent. Time seems to be running out. The enemy fleet managed to retreat to a "deep space" hex...

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/7/2011 8:49:34 AM)

Yeah that happens. Haven't been able to find a way to fix that yet. Cadwall turn 60 played and sent on to Romanov.

The Emperor Wars seem to be winding down as popular sentiment turns against the endless bloodshed. On several important DeCastillo worlds, popular uprisings against the fighting see disruption of resource gathering activities. Cadwall agents are rumored to be behind some of these movements. Meanwhile, despite setbacks in space, Cadwall ground and atmospheric forces seem to be hanging on to thier possesions. Rumor has it that a new Emperor will be chosen very soon.

Warning, this is the November turn...next turn December should be the last playable turn...the Emperor will be crowned at the begining of January... so get your bids in for victory while you can.

Casus_Belli -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/8/2011 1:51:38 PM)

I thought turn 60 was the last. This fifth column could be nasty.

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/10/2011 12:28:01 AM)

Turn 60 sent. The system said turn 60 would be November so 61 should be December. So I assume it is one final round right?

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/10/2011 5:27:07 AM)

Correct, December is the last playable round. The winner is declared at the start of Jan. Speaking of which, Cadwall final turn played and sent on to Romanov. It's coming down to the wire but I think my chances are pretty decent. I currently stand at 247 VP's with Drako at 222. Only 1 of my towns (4 VP's) is in a position to be attacked by ground forces...meaning no possibility of having anything else captured before game end.

House Cadwall would like to take the opportunity to apologize to House Romanov for the "freindly fire" incident [8|] outside Trieste. In the confused fighting for the town, we mistook retreating Romanov troops for Drako forces and opened fire upon them. We offer our sincrere apologies for the losses inflicted. On a positive note, attacking Drako forces were driven out of Trieste and the town secured by our troops. It will be returned to House Romanov control when the situation on Circe has stabilized, assuming we can locate any surviving heirs of that House.

Casus_Belli -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/13/2011 1:42:11 PM)

Turn sent on to Sian Chi. DeCastillo forces are poised to invade Circe but unable to control the planetary skies enough to land them on the surface. Even then, some organisation and recovery would be necessary, and the invading troops would be vulnerable in the meantime. If the game were continuing, it would be back to the drawing board for invasion plans. How do we find out the final result?

I've had a marvellous time with this game and want to thank everyone involved.

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/14/2011 11:28:00 PM)

Sent out turn 61. Did not really play the turn as I am nowhere near taking the necessary points to reach House Cadwall of course.
There was no mentioning of a winner at the opening of the next round but maybe this is only after opening the turn?

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/15/2011 1:56:05 AM)

Victory is trigered by the date becoming Jan of 2147....since Cadwall is the first player. It gets declared when they open thier turn. Which just happaned. I can forward along the turn with my password in case anyone wants to check out the final conditions. I'm posting a screenshot of the victory declaration along with the final VP totals below.

Thanks to everyone in thier dedication in helping me test out the scenerio...it's an awesome thing to finnish a 61 turn 5 player game. I hope everyone enjoyed thier time. I wasn't sure how well it would work out, as it's stretching the capabilities of the engine to model this type of conflict...but it really illustrates how awesomely versatile Vic has made the editor. Again it was a thrill to play with all you guys...and I certainly was biting my nails right down to the end. Now if I can only dig up some Romanov nobles to return Trieste to....

Thanks to you most of all, GrumpyMel, for designing such a marvellously inventive scenario. [&o] [sm=Cool-049.gif][sm=00000436.gif][sm=00000028.gif][sm=character0272.gif][sm=cool0013.gif][sm=happy0005.gif]

Will there be an ATG version? I'd be in it for another game, and I'm sure I could come up with a bunch of suggestions - like everyone - if you were still working on it.

GrumpyMel -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/15/2011 4:57:53 PM)

Casus,

Thanks....I'm sure I'll do an ATG version at some point....and suggestions are always welcome. Right now the ATG version of European Theatre of Operations is getting my priorty for updating, though.

Tufkal2 -> RE: Space Opera - Test Games (6/15/2011 8:35:06 PM)

Ah that explains it. Congrats to a nice win and thanks for the scenario. Really enjoyed the game and would not have minded to continue for some more turns....
